    Apple Music

Anyone try out Apple's new streaming music service? Seems to be getting some love and looks to be a viable candidate to compete against Spotify, Pandora, Rdio, etc. Tidal appears to be a flop already.

I pay $10/month for Spotify, but I'm beginning to see artists/bands really jump on the Apple Music bandwagon. With Apple's deep pockets, the service won't be going away and they have the power to buy exclusives and support the service.

It all reminds me of the Madden and NFL 2k debate where you had an underdog cutting into the big guy's share. Then EA bought the NFL rights and that's been that since. As more players jump in to the streaming music service, I'm worried that I'll be locked out from some artists/bands music because they've reached an exclusive deal to only stream via Apple Music. Third Eye Blind and Taylor Swift are two examples with recent releases that aren't available on Spotify but are on Apple Music.

Honestly, seems like the writing is on the wall. I'm holding on to Spotify because I'm familiar with it and it's been good to me. But it looks like it's Apple Music's game from here on out. Mainly created this topic to see if anyone has used it and their impressions.

I signed up for the three-month trial, but haven't really used it. There was a glitch (since fixed) where it would replace all your downloaded music with Apple Music versions. I used a lot of data listening to music that should have been on my iPhone. I wasn't real thrilled about that.

Yeah I want to get in on the trial but I usually like to let new tech work out its kinks with the masses first. Sounds like this wasn't without its flaws.

I despise iTunes so going to a music service from Apple doesn't seem like a good idea although they're not the same.

One hang-up for me is scrobbling to last.fm which Spotify allows. Not sure if Apple Music does. Hey, I'm a sports/stats guy!

I'm sad this is where music is going. I still have an iPod and use it daily. I don't want to stream music to listen to my music daily.

It's not like you can't buy & download music anymore.

For now yes but Apple stopped making iPods so when mine breaks I'll have to find another route and streaming is the way of the future.

Uh, no they haven't. The classic iPods are gone (clickwheel version) but iPods are very much available today.

Learn how to set up and use your iPod touch. Find all the topics, resources, and contact options you need for your iPod touch.

I have an iPhone but I don't like listening to music with it due to running down my battery.

I should have said they don't make an iPod that will hold all of my songs. All of those are too small unfortunately.

The problem with that is none of the Apple products allow that and Apple doesn't allow you to put iTunes songs on a non apple device without putting it through a special program.

I can't wait to have something that can hold 500 gigs worth of music so i can just have everything on there, or a TB. I think i'm at 600 gigs now.

                          Re: Apple Music

The layout on the app is confusing as hell. I signed up for the three month free trial, but honestly the only reason I did that was to hear the new MS MR album. There's no way artists hold out forever, eventually the novelty will wear off and there will be a mass exodus back to Spotify

I should have said they don't make an iPod that will hold all of my songs. All of those are too small unfortunately.
128 gigs is too small? Seriously? You're really trying to tell me that the music you listen to enough to put on your iPod is larger than 128 gigs?

I think you need to step back and re-assess what you do and don't listen to on a regular basis, like most people do.

Yeah, I have had an 80g iPod for years, and I still haven't figured out a way to fill it. And I have a LOT of music.

I don't like the iPod touch. It's basically an iPhone that doesn't make calls. I'm not sure how good the battery life is with that anyway.
