Re: Game of Thrones: Season 7
With only 13 episodes left, did we really need a Samwell poop montage? The episode was great though. The opening scene was classic. The easiest way to take out Cersei would be to get to Jamie first. I am not sure the mountain will let anyone but Jamie close enough to Cersei to get her. Arya has her work cut out for her.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

A little too much Samwell IMO.. I hate that entire character/angle, but overall I enjoyed the episode. It set the table for this season. With only 13 episodes left, did we really need a Samwell poop montage? The episode was great though. The opening scene was classic. Are we doing spoilers ?
SpoilerSer Jorah's arm coming out at him was a bit of a surprise, though. I'm glad his character is still aroundComment

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 7
Arya Stark!

I like Ed Sheeran, but I really wanted him to get stabbed. He stood out too much.
LOVED the Hound's story in this episode. They really showed us more of his character and the humanity he has compared to his wight-like bro, The Mountain. As soon as they showed the house and the Hound's hesitance to stay there, I immediately remembered him and Arya eating with the father & daughter in season 4. I thought that was a great nod for long-time, eagle-eyed viewers. ALSO! We got our first, very detailed "glimpse" into what they see in the fire. That was rad.
What gift is Euron getting Cersei? BOOKSpoilerCertain dragon-binding horn, perhaps?
One thing that nagged me with Sam finding out about the mountain-full of dragonglass in Dragonstone, is that Stannis told him Dragonstone is filled with dragonglass. Why wouldn't he have already told Jon that info, other than, "hey, guess what! There's also a mountain filled with them!"
Are we finally getting the Jaime redemption tour that's been stop-and-go on the show (compared to the books)? His whole exchange with Cersei seems to be pointing towards that.
Circling back to Arya, it'll be interesting to see how she develops this season. She claimed her identity last season and rejected being "no-one," but what if, in the process of her crossing out her list, she loses herself? Killed Walder -- she looked satisfied AF. Killed all the male Freys -- winter freakin' came alright. I hope that doesn't happen, but it can't all be rosy for the Stark's comeback tour.Comment

Re: Game of Thrones: Season 7
I would normally say no, but given that several episodes will have longer than usual run times included the finale being damn near 80 minutes and talk of every episode of season 8 being around 90 I didn't mind it too much. With only 13 episodes left, did we really need a Samwell poop montage? The episode was great though. The opening scene was classic. The easiest way to take out Cersei would be to get to Jamie first. Re: Game of Thrones: Season 7
Didn't have a problem w/ the Samwell stuff because it was pretty quick and concise. A lot of 'setting the table' scenes and that gave us all the context for his role for the entire season.
I would have been fine never seeing Ser Jorah again.
The episode really did feel like it peaked at opening but then ends perfectly sending us into 'Stormborn' next week.
Charlie's always excellent breakdown:
