you made me choose between 1989 batman and the dark knight......ugh. 1989 batman for me just because it came out first and paved the way for the dark knight. 1989 batman created the formula and the dark knight perfected it.

Easily the three best for me. Before Batman Begins came out it was obviously Michael Keatons take. I still enjoy the 1989 Batman but it has shown it’s age. Nolans first two Batman movies are the gold standard for me. Just amazing. Dark Knight Rises was ok. Not horrible. But not near the first two in the trilogy.

I think Affleck is a damn good Batman. But he has not had a stand alone film yet (if ever). Too bad.

Adam West’s batman is always good cheesy retro fun. I have the entire series and the movie on Blue Ray. Always a trip back to my childhood waking up at 6AM to watch the original series on TV Monday thru Friday.

Has anyone actually watched the 1989 Batman movie in the last 5-10 years? I watched it most recently in 2014 and it was horrible, doesn't hold up well at all IMO.

The performances hold up great from Keaton and Jack. But the movie has not aged really well.

I watched it a few months ago actually.

Now you want to talk horrible? Watch Batman and Robin with Arnie as Mr. Freeze

George Clooney was freaking awful.....awful! Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl? LMFAO What a mess that movie was.

Batman Forever could have been epic. I loved Val’s take and Jim Carrey was perfect as the Riddler and Tommy Lee Jones was excellent as Two Face. I just hated Joel Shumachers vision. Blech.

Dude there are a few really good animated Batman films in the JL anima world. Did not even list any of them.

Batman Returns had a dark quality for sure and Michelle Pfeiffer was damn good as Cat Woman. That one would rank 4th for me for live action Batman films with Forever and B&R rounding out the very bottom.

I won’t even rank the Adam West film as I attach that to the TV show. Which was total camp.

While Dark Knight is great, I'm going Returns. Reminds me of the animated series, like Burton's style. I also appreciate you putting Mask of the Phantasm on the poll, solid movie.


Year One is also a solid animated movie.

It feels incredibly goofy at times. Jack walking through the art museum, the parade bit, but I still enjoy it for what it's. Kim Basinger didn't hurt either

1. The dark knight rises- The way a lot of people fell about the dark knight is how I fell about rises.

2. Batman begins- A great to of a new trilogy and better than a lot of super hero movies

3. Dark knight- Still a amazing movie but fell its overrated.

I was never really big into the batman movies before the dark knight trilogy and after the dark knight trilogy I have a hard time watching any other batman movies again.

Funny thing is its my favorite of the older movies. Only one I completely dislike is returns.

Switch 1&2, and I'm with you. Nolan rescued the franchise after it was nearly killed off by The *** Known as Joel Schumacher. The less said about those two s***fests, the better.

IMO, I think Affleck's Dark Knight is the closest to Frank Miller's version, which I love.
