I believe its the ps2 all over again. company hurries to get product on the market, has problems with machine and in ms's case with demand, and then tries to find anything and everyone it can as the scape goat.

I'm sorry.. I believe that microsoft's greed is the cause of this headache, no one elses. If microsoft didn't think that they would create a huge demand for the next-generation of consoles, then they need to go back to school and learn about business.

Yup you're right. It really is Microsofts fault for creating such an awesome console there is a huge demand, everyone wants it and they can't make it fast enough. Stupid Microsoft.

Look at how many consoles are sitting in japan. Because Microsoft was so stupid, they actually have sold less xbox360's in the first few weeks then they did with the original xbox machines when they launched. Now with hardware issues being reported, and news of a possible earlier than usual PS3 release, and the annoyance of not being able to buy the system. many people appear fed up with Microsoft, and are looking at sony instead. This is microsoft's strategy for dipping into sony's market?

Seems pretty poorly done. In North America and Europe, there are alot of xbox fans. but not enough consoles, yet there are thousands of systems in japan just sitting on the shelf. What a waste, that could be 40-60,000 more untis sold in europe or north america.

I dont see how you can expect the japanese to buy it when you have launch titles that do not cater to them whatsoever. Did you think people in japan would be drooling over madden or nba? LOL please.

Microsoft is gearing for another Big Defeat this time around if they dont get their **** together, and its a shame because their system is truly impressive. But they keep shooting themselves in the foot. I persoanlly am still getting one, but I can understand vincesanity and other's reasons for waiting for the ps3.

Anyone who doesnt think Microsoft has made errors here needs a swift reality check.

Overly optimistic? Yes. Stupid? No. The truth is i'm sure MS is disappointed and yes maybe it was a bad move doing a worldwide launch but hindsight is 20/20 and in business unless you have a crystal ball you can't predict everything.

All launches have hardware issues. The press has reported the fact that some Xbox 360's, of which MS has had less than a 5% failure rate, which is the norm for failure among electronics, have had problems but what they haven't reported is the excellent customer service MS has given very few that have had problems..and yes there are very few of them.

Wow - where are you getting this from? Actually it's quite the opposite, nearly all sources point to a later than usual PS3 launch. Originally slated for spring most sources are now saying fall is probably alot more likely.

That's no ones fault but their own for not preordering early enough. It's not like no one saw this coming since the same exact situation occurred with the PS2 6 years ago. That is the bottom line...if you REALLY wanted it that badly then you would have preordered when preorders began. And i'm not saying you specifically, just people in general.

However you do have a valid point that it's bad for MS and the customer as well that they don't have enough to sell right now but it is also a much better alternative than having a bunch of them sitting on the shelves here and not selling.

Sure, in the month of December when a 360 is impossible to find that is easy to say but let's see if that carries them through January or February when 360's are sitting everywhere on every shelf and the PS3 launch delay is confirmed. Most people saying "F*** MS - im' getting a PS3!" now will likely have short memories, as most of us do, once the situation changes after the holidays.

what i am saying is that microsoft has a tremendous amount of pre-orders that have gone unfilled. THAT IS MICROSOFT'S FAULT!!!

They tell companies such as gamestop and eb, how many pre-orders that should take and what the shipment scales will be..ex: eb takes 100 per microsoft, microsoft then tells them that only 40 will be on launch and the other 60 will be by a certain date. MICROSOFT SETS THE PRE-ORDER LIMITS NOT THE GAME COMPANIES!!

think about it, if eb chose how many pre-orders to take, do you actually think that they would stop at a certain number and tell you that they aren't taking anymore. ask a microsoft rep he will tell you the same thing.
