Re: Wait for PS3 or Get a XBox 360?
Well stated. I love my 360 and can't wait to pickup a PS3 as well. But the consensus is true that 90% of all next gen games will show up on both the 360 and PS3 this time around.Originally posted by fishepaWhy deprive yourself of next gen goodness? Get a 360.Comment

Originally posted by p1553di agree with the above comments whole heartedly. but if you only just play sports games for the most part, i dont think it will really matter which one you get. they will most likely be the exact same on both systems. also another thing to consider is the revolution. the reasons why i say this is:
1.you said that you dont have a lot of money, or at least not enough for multiple systems, and the revolution should be cheaper than the other two.
2.the sports games that you like should be on the system.
3.nintendo has some of the best exclusives around.
4.for someone that in your own words "don't spend hrs upon hrs playing videogames". the xbox360 or ps3 may not be a sound investment or return on your gaming dollar.
Oh I beg to differ. When you look at all the gaming sites and what the Next Gen looks like!!!!!!! I don't know man. Knowing what's out there and playing what we play with the ps2 in my case... Man No comparison. When I said I don't have money I ment I don't have 1500 dollars laying around for 2 consoles, a few games, and accesories ahahahahah. I do want Next Gen Goodness. Thanks everone for the imput. Alot of valid points. And the revolution is out of the question. I have HDTV and want the most out of my gaming experiences...Comment

Re: Wait for PS3 or Get a XBox 360?
I'm not so sure the games will be on the Revolution.
I'd say base it on your secondary game choices since I think sports will be the same on both and probably developed for the 360 first then ported because all reports seem to indicate it's much easier to develop for so....
If you like racing games more go with 360 if you the MGS type games more go with PS3.Comment

Re: Wait for PS3 or Get a XBox 360?
I'd wait for the simple fact of then being able to see both systems for yourself, and making an educated decision on which one to buy. That way you don't waste any money, have no regrets, and get the sytem you really want and is best suited for you.Comment

I'm in the same boat as the original poster...I'm in it 90% fir the sports and racing games.
Also, I am a huge baseball fan, and I realy felt like I was missing out by not having the PS2.
Also, the racing titles on Xbox just didn;t do it for me - there was PGR and Forza, but that was all I liked. PS2 had a greater variety of racers.
Also, no good wrestling games on Xbox either.
As a pure sports-gaming fan, I was disappointed on many occasions with Xbox, which is why I'm waiting for the PS3 to drop before I make my decision.Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Re: Wait for PS3 or Get a XBox 360?
I already have a 360 and I'm probably going to get the PS3 as well. However, if you have the money for a 360 now I'd say go ahead and get it. Since the PS3 might not even be out for the next 6 months or so, and its very difficult for me to sit on $500 dollars for that amount on time.Oklahoma State Cowboys 2011 Big XII Champions, 2012 Fiesta Bowl Champions

Re: Wait for PS3 or Get a XBox 360?
I am in a similair boat. What I decided to do is get the 360 now and pre-order the PS3 (when available) and pay it off over several months. If the PS3 is too expensive or not overly impressive (although how could it not be) I will stick with the 360. I always liked the sports games better on the original Xbox and I like American style RPG like Morrowind and anything done by Bioware.DON'T PANICComment

I could be missing something, but the only racers not on both systems were Forza, PGR2/3, Gran Turismo 4, and World of Outlaws.Originally posted by inkcilI'm in the same boat as the original poster...I'm in it 90% fir the sports and racing games.

I play mainly sports, FPS, and racers. Where the Xbox had all those for me.
The PS2 without a doubt in my mind had the better first party games.Comment

Re: Wait for PS3 or Get a XBox 360?
Why wait? Next Gen is already here.
The PS3 will not be noticeably better than the 360 (that's all hype). It comes down to which titles you prefer and if you want to play on LIVE.
get a 360, if you like the PS3 more after it releases, trade it in.Last edited by Klocker; 02-09-2006, 12:01 PM.Comment
