Most merchants sell potions but if you want soem healing type potions, go to a chapel and talk to the priest. Most places labeled that dont sell 1 particular thing may also have some potions. Ethier that or create your own or find some out adventuring.

BTW, I'm having a hard time keeping money in this game. The most I had was 1000+ bucks, I'm now back to less than 100. I cant afford to recharge my weapon, I cant afford a house, I cant afford a horse because my last one died. Well not died, when his enegy depleted, he sort of galloped away to never be seen again. I'm so poor. I guess its time to get my thief on.

I'll definetly try that, but does'nt the game advertise 1080I on the box cover ?? What are you thinking on this dub ?? I'm just confused on how it could be better at a lower resolution (not being a smartass just not up to
speed on all this HDTV stuff).

Another thing, here is a trick that might work from Morrowind. If the guards are after you to arrest you and you dont want to lose your stolen good, before he nabs you, drop all of you stolen items on the ground. They will be there when you pay your fine or get out of jail. I haven't tried this trick in Oblivion yet since I'm a goody two shoes hero who saves cats from trees.

EDIT: Also, for those who dont know. The more expensive books are the ones that will give you a stat boost. In Morrowind, thie price was 100 bucks and up. In Oblivion, I've seen a 75 dollar book that gave me a stat boost. So know what to look out for so you dont just go picking up and opening every book you run across. Books are much more availible and seen than they were in Morrowind. So this will save you time.

Thank you for the tip Graphiks. One thing I find funny in the game is whenever I pick something up, people think I'm stealing it and go crazy shouting "THIEF!" I was in some church and found out I could pick stuff up(I don't know how to throw things yet) so I picked up a pot and tried to drop it on some ladys head who was sitting down in the church and she lost her mind yelling thief and then guards came to take me away. I of course resisted arrest and they proceeded to strike me down and kill me. I can't kill the guards yet, I guess my character is not strong enough yet to do so.

I also killed a wolf on the side of a hill and he went tumbling down the hill and almost went into the lake. It was great, I love the physics in the game.

Good hints Graphik... you'll have to try that "dropping your items" trick, and let everyone know if that works... That'd suck if they took your items anyway, lol.

How do you know which books will give you a stat boost? I have picked up tons, and have paged through them but have never gotten a boost.

About the dropping your stolen items...

If you try it don't do it right as you get caught, the guards will take the stuff if it is at your feet I believe. Try running from where you drop it at or dropping it as you run along.

Be funny if you drop it, and when you come back to get it, you catch people picking it up and taking it, lol.

                        Books that give stat boosts...

When you first read them you will get a notice at the top left hand corner of the screen. Being that you have the book open the notice is kinda hard to see. Like Graphik said the books that give stat gains usually have a higher price. Normal books are worth around 5 gold or so. Stat books start at about 75 gold each. Just keep an eye on the prices and read the higher priced ones.

Speaking of killing wolfs, during a fight with this wolf that my horse jumped in, on the death blow, the wolf jumped to attack, I swung my mace and the wolf must of flew 15 feet in the air spinning and landed about 20 yards away. That was the single most breathtaking kill I've ever encountered in a video game. Much better than a headshot in a FPS. Even better than the exploding head with a shotgun in Soilder of Fortune.

I also love killing skeletons with my fire ball. When you kill them, their skull flies off. I shot this skeleton with a fireball and his head shot up like a rocket and landed about 40 yards from his body. It looked like a FG kick through some uprights.

could someone answer a quick question?

I'm looking for an ATI card for my system - specifically with Oblivion in mind.

                            Looking at ati.com gaming cards

my question is this - does the order of "best" go

the X series (x1900, x1800, etc) then the 9000 series?

So, would I be better off going for say an x1300 than a 9600 or something?

I am on a ship in Imperial City and I need to kill some ghosts. What is the best way to kill them? Can I use weapons or do I need to use spells? Thanks!!!

Ghost are immune to magic so your best bet is the most powerful weapon you can find.
