Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Most of my mods other than OOO don't make major changes. A lot fix small annoyances I have with the game or add immersion. The immersion mods aren't for everyone though.
za_bankmod.esp - Bank of Cyrodil.. adds a bank to the Imperial City. Can store money and earn interest.
ReneersGoldMod.esp - Adds weight to gold. Makes the Bank mod critical at higher levels.
WaterFallCave.esp - Adds a small player house in the woods near Cheydinhal. It's in a cave behind a waterfall.
VaultsofCyrodiil.esp - Adds vaults to every city. Has good loot but only very high level thiefs will be able to get in.
HoarfrostCastle.esp - Adds a player castle near Bruma. It can only be obtained through a long quest driven story.
Dark Dungeons.esp - Makes the dungeons darker (ie makes torches relevant)
NoStartingSpells.esp - Small plugin that removes the starting spells. My current character doesn't use any magic which is why I added this.
MM_TextLoading.esp - Removes loading text when entering new areas.
MM_TextLocks.esp - Removes text telling you how difficult a lock is. You won't know until you try to pick it.
RealSleep.esp - Makes your character start to wear down if he goes without sleep for long periods of time.
aaaBorsBedrolls.esp - Adds bedrolls. Critical when using real sleep.
NoBackwardsRunning.esp - Doesn't allow you to sprint full speed when moving backwards. Only for short distances, then you move slower. I wish there was a mod that prevented NPC archers from running backwards as well.
CapesandCloaks.esp and Travelers' Cloaks.esp - both add various capes and cloaks to the game.
Duke Patricks Basic Denock Arrows.esp - Allows you to denock your arrow when you have one drawn rather than having to fire it.
RealisticFatigue.esp - Makes the fatigue/encumberance system more realistic.
Lynges_Thieves_Highway-10256.esp - Allows you to access rooftops of buildings.
thievery.esp - Can't quite remember, but I think this is a group of quests in the IC.
Living Economy.esp - Makes changes to the economy. Merchants no longer have unlimited gold and a few other changes.
TamrielTravellers4OOO.esp - Adds more travellers and merchants to roads.
Call Steed 2.5+Saddlebags 0.91.esp - Allows you to call your horse to you and adds saddlebags to the horse so you can store loot.
Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esp - mentioned above. Massive mod that changes many things in the game.
OOO-Water_Weeds.esp - Adds weeds underwater.
Harvest [Flora].esp - Makes the appearance of plants, etc change when you harvest them.
PersuasionOverhaul.esp - Removes the stupid persuasion game and instead uses things like race, sex, type of NPC to determine how succesful you are in persuading them.
RealHungerv1.4_NO_MMM.esp - Makes your character start to wear down if he goes long periods without eating.
I think that covers most of them. This list is nothing compared to some players.Comment

Anybody know what/where the cheapest house is to buy? I need somewhere to store my excessive supplies.

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Its not free, its 5,000 gold. But for 5,000 that is a bargain because it is very nice. As far as cheapest house goes, I think that is the Imperial City house on the waterfront. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Haha, I remember when I first got into this game I was talking about it with a friend of mine who was also just getting into it. He was talking about how much money it took to get the houses in order and I told him abut that. He said he couldn't go there because it didn't project an aura of success, what with all the bums and thieves around. He was afraid the thieves would break into his house and take his loot too.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Been playing the game a little bit lately... Just went to Vindasel, and fought Umbra. Damn, I forgot how tough that woman was. I think I went though 12 full Health Potions, and 2-3 to restore magic.
Having a lot of fun with it though. I'm not fast traveling through at all... and taking my time with leveling up. I really want some daedric armor though.
After a few try throughs, I finally have a full set of Umbra Ebony Armor.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
Just finished up with the Main Quest of the Game. Wanted to go through that part of it pretty quickly, so I didn't have Oblivion Gates Opening up like crazy. That last section was TOUGH. Didn't remember it being so difficult. Maybe because I was such a low level... but it took me 37 weak potions of healing, to get through just the final section.
NOW.... TO do all of the side quests...Twitter - WTF_OS

I'm probably going to pop this one in over the long weekend, and finish out my achievements for the Mage and Fighers guilds.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
I've just been exploring recently. I'm having more fun this time around than I did the first time I played. I didn't even beat it the first time either, so I'll have plenty of new stuff to try out. Not to mention Shivering Isles which I never even touched when I initially DL'd it.Comment

I think there are still quests I need to do though.

Re: Official Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Discussion
I just finished the game, but I probably shouldn't have waited until 2009 to really get into it. Fun game, and the main quest got pretty good at the end. This was way better than Fallout 3, at least to me.
Now I have to get a cheap copy of the GOTY version to play the DLC for the remaining achievements. I'm not going to pay what they want for it on Live.Comment
