I liked it, but I am almost to the point where COD and Halo have ruined FPS games to me....once you play those games so much, the other ones just don't handle as well.

I have FEAR for the PC and it was a GREAT game. Never picked it up for the 360 though but haven't played a console FPS yet that topped it or HL/HL2.
      IMO of course.

Re: F.E.A.R. officially coming to 360

I just played the demo last night and it is pretty cool. I just got the 360 and I'm looking for an FPS to hold me over until Halo 3. I'm considering FEAR, Perfect Dark, R6:Vegas, and GRAW 2. I'm looking for a game with an active online presence, but I'll probably play some singleplayer too. I'm not a big tactical guy, I prefer run-n-gun. Any recommendations?

            R6 Vegas without a doubt.

I agree with that.........FEAR and Half Life 2 are the top notch FPS's that other companies should be taking a look at. At first I really thought that the supernatural part of the storyline was going to be something very stupid, but I really like how they have incorporated it in the game. It's there to help with the story + provide some frightening creepy moments for the gameplayer.

Monolith has always had nice FPS engines over the years.......games like Blood, Blood 2, Shogo, and No One Lives Forever 1 & 2 come to mind. But they have learned from their experiences and have taken their engines to the next step with FEAR. I am currently at the end of Interval 3, I have seen some crazy stuff from the A.I. I can't believe if your firing at the soldiers, they will split up coming at you from different directions. Even one better, if there is a corridor behind you or even a walkway on the other side.........they will come after you from the other door to take you out. Even crazier seeing them jump over guardrails and back or when they get up to close quarters they break out hand to hand combat.

                F.E.A.R. Spreads Over XBL
The torrent of free content for Sierra's FPS continues.

August 13, 2007 - Following up on its promise to make additional free map packs for F.E.A.R. available over Xbox Live, Sierra has delivered the "Bonus Map Pack." The new content adds three multiplayer levels to the Xbox 360 version of F.E.A.R.:

Ecosphere - lush vegetation provides plenty of hiding places for sniping
                Hotel - a dilapidated building
Sewars - don't get lost in these twisting tunnels

Sierra has been heavily supporting F.E.A.R. with free content throughout the summer, almost ten months into the game's life. If you haven't felt the chill of this spooky first-person shooter, check out IGN's video review below.

The AI in this game is the best I've ever seen. They will flank you, run away when their numbers aren't high enough, and work as a team most of the time. It's absolutely amazes me sometimes when I play.

On the other hand I can't play the PC version alone in my house in the dark. I just can't do it...I have to keep looking over my shoulder for the girl.

The AI in this game rules. Last night I was playing SP, I shot one of the soldiers in the leg............he was dragging his bad leg as he was trying to find cover. Another thing that was cool was the soldiers will also dive though the glass windows in the offices.

Very good game and can't wait for Extraction Point to release on the 360.

                      F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate/F.E.A.R. Files Hands-On Preview

Files and the PC version of Perseus Mandate. With temperatures in Palm Springs reaching a disgusting 109° there were few things that could have cooled us off. Fortunately, there’s not much that Palm Springs could do to stop the chills and screams that our time with F.E.A.R. provided.

First off, just to set things straight, F.E.A.R. Files is a compilation package of both the first F.E.A.R. expansion Extraction Point (converted by Day 1 Studios), and the new expansion Perseus Mandate for the Xbox 360, which is being developed by Timegate Studios for both the Xbox 360 and PC. PS3 owners are out of luck, for the F.E.A.R. Files is an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both packages will be standalone and will not require the user to have any previous versions of the game. Finally, while pricing has not been finalized, we’ve heard that most likely F.E.A.R. Files will see a $40.00 price tag, and Perseus Mandate for the PC will be the usual expansion price of $20.00.

How creepy is this game on a scale of 1-10, 10 the highest?

I'm looking to play a creepy game with the GF. She somewhat likes FPS sometimes, if they are creepy.

I played the demo and watched the vids and there was nothing too creepy.

Is it just the girl running around that makes it creepy? Environments?

You're not going to get as creeped out playing it with the g/f. You have to play with it alone, in the dark and late at night.

And I'm talking about playing the game... you sick bastards...

I'm looking to play a creepy game with the GF. She somewhat likes FPS sometimes, if they are creepy.

I played the demo and watched the vids and there was nothing too creepy.

Is it just the girl running around that makes it creepy? Environments?
The environments and lighting add to that creepy atmosphere. Then the points where Alma appears and other ghostly looking people, it just makes the game that much creepy.

Thanks guys, I rarely get creeped out anyway. But as I said, the game is more for her so it should work.

I'll give this one a rent sometime this month.

LOL! After playing this game off and on the last few months, I finally beat it tonight. Kind of cool ending, but just sort of weak too. I really hope that they do decide with different and more varied environments come with the sequel, those damn corridors were getting on my nerves by the end. I really hope that we finally get variation on the environments with the next game.
