Don't have the game yet, just what I've read....

Apparently in Bowerstone there's a pub right behind the 'tower' with a pub 'master' or some such title. You have to talk to him to transfer in money.

So surprised there not more people talking about this game in here. I'm at work so I can't but what about you jobless, college or day off people. Come On!

I buggered up my character in less than 5 minutes and had to start over already. Trying to eat a sandwich and play at the same time wasn't working out so it's on pause for now. Great voice acting, music and art design so far.

I looked over the whole city trying to find a LE with the 48 hour trial sticker on it. I didn't. I found a normal edition at the last Wal-Mart with a 48 hour trial sticker,it was the only one that even had them on the normal edition. So I got the LE there,it had the card in it. Second last one too and it's sold out. The DL was only 108kb wich means it's an unlock key and the stuff is already on the disc.

I'm not very far. I also had to start over, because I forgot to put in the code to redeem the extra content that came with the LE.

Anyways, childhood is much shorter in Fable II, so it's not going to take you long before you reach adulthood. The first area in adulthood is way more open than anything in the original Fable. That was one my biggest issues with the first game, is that you were really restricted and it felt like the entire game took place on a single road. There's a few cool references to original early on too.

Combat is pretty basic at moment, so I can't really comment on it until I've unlocked some more abilities. I will say I do like the war drums that play in background when you start chaining combos together, and you're trying to match the beats with your strikes. It's very rhythm based, almost like Patapon in ways.

The dog is great. The way he reacts to you and follows you, is impressive. He will sniff out buried treasures for you dig up and growl when he senses danger is near. There are some odd things he will do from time to time and he will clip through your legs, but overall, I think the dog is going to be an excellent addition.

Art direction, dialogue, music, charm, and humor are top notch, but those were to be expected.

                I'm going evil for sure.

The system gave me a disc read error, suprise suprise. Looks like I'll have to start over for a 3rd time and MS is getting a rather angry call later.

You start off in the city as a kid and it serves as a tutorial.

About an hour in you can just do whatever you feel like doing. The bread crumbs do seem to follow you so you always have a link to the correct quest. It is not a nuisance at all, usually you are captivated with the stunning visuals of the world to really care.

P.S. on a side note, this was the first game that ever blinded me while i was playing. Ran up a huge mountain just as the sun was peeking thru and got blinded. LOL. It was a beautiful site though: sun coming up, small little cottage right below me, and a nice size lake down below. The artistry is just wonderful in this game

Oi. Restart again me thinks. My character turned out looking like an average sized (as opposed to skinny) Lara Croft. Not ugly or bad looking but not something I want either, might be ok later with a different hair style and color so I'll keep the save. Did 4 good things and 1 bad. 4 million combos, this could take a while.

Why don't you just live with a character haha. Beat it with that person then go back for more and see what you get.

You might never get to truly enjoy the game this way.

I really like the breadcrumb trail as an exploration tool because if you are in a cave with 4 ways to go and one of them is lit up by the trail, you can go the other 3 paths to see what is down them before going on with the quest on the trail.

I found a terrible flaw with the game that I haven't seen mentioned in any review that I've read yet. It's not a spoiler because you will all encounter it early and has nothing to do with the story.

Every single time I've gone from one place to another and done it manually (not fast travel etc.) I encounter the exact same enemies in the exact same places - called 'set pieces'. So that if I clear this one place where there are enemies on a bridge, comming back those same enemies will be there. I think the volume may increase a little, but you can expect those same guys standing in the same place regardless of whether you killed them or not.

I'm going to write my own review and mention this at some point. I really like the game, but that is just a terrible design decision.

not that there aren't unique design choices and random enemy encounters tied to quests though - so it's not as if all fighting is like this.

I haven't noticed that all unless you completely leave the region and come back. I walked around the open area outsider of Bowerstone about 3 times to make sure I got all the chests and such and never seen anymore bandits in their spots they ambushed me after I killed them the first time. The game is loading too much stuff all the time to be able to keep up with who is dead and in what places in the region after you leave the region. And when you consider that, it's no different than any other game like that. If I went to Rockmilk Cave in Oblivion, it had the exact same bandit layout every single time. If I went in a forest in Chrono Trigger, you'd see nearly the exact same monster layout in the forest every time also. I don't consider it a bad design decision since it's been the same way in many games for as long as I can remember.
