Re: Warhawk anyone?
There are more than 5 maps. It's actually closer to 25, I think.
See, there are five "planet" maps that define the textures, and then they're broken down further into the actual gameplay maps. For example, on one planet map, archipelago, I've played a map which included both land and air combat, and one (Dogfight) that was entirely air (you weren't allowed to land - not that you could on the tiny islands). I have to say, seeing 32 people flying around an area with ZERO lag (as far as I could tell, at least) is quite a sight.
And as mintsa said, some maps are much bigger than others. One of the eucadian city maps is so big I had to use the ground vehicles just to get around it in any decent length of time.Last edited by bcruise; 08-29-2007, 12:41 PM.Comment

Re: Warhawk anyone?
Here's the list (I wanted to make sure I wasn't talking out my rear)
Island Outpost:
Island Battle
Installation
Over The Bridges
Bridge Out
Dogfight
The Badlands:
Desert Warfare
Supply Chain
Northern Front
Skirmish
Fortress
Dogfight
Destroyed Capitol:
High Rise Hop
The Six Boroughs
Spire Shut-In
Road to Ruin
King of the Hill
Dogfight
Archipelago:
Island Warfare
Castle Solitaire
Castle Tug-O-War
Acropolis Assault
Southern Islands
Dogfight
Eucadia:
Battle for Eucadia
Summit Command
Valley Battle
High vs. Low
Urban Strike
Northern Bridge
Dogfight
I haven't played even close to all of these, but I can guess that the map is what dictates whether the game is ground, air, or both. Some of those sound like they could be ground only, but I've yet to run into one in-game.Comment

Re: Warhawk anyone?
I want to clarify one more thing about the maps, because I just got a good look at a few of them through local games.
In a sense, there are 5 - in another, there's a lot more. The first map on each of those lists is the entire "planet", and are the huge maps usually reccommended for 16 players and up. The others focus on certain sections of that large map, and are geared toward smaller numbers of players. The rest of the map is still there, but you take damage and eventually die if you stay outside the designated area too long.Comment

Re: Warhawk anyone?
I suck, was at Best Buy, they were putting it out. I bought it, but didn't open it. Only bought it because a buddy of mine bought it as well. Peer pressure sucks. Still don't know if I'll open it though.Comment

Re: Warhawk anyone?
Wow, this game's fun. It reminds me so much of Battlefield on the 360, which IMO is a good thing. I enjoyed that game.
I agree with Backbreaker on how the vehicles handle, they're very easy to control. However, I can't figure out how to exit a jeep. I've tried everything. I'm also unsure of how to change weapons. I need to read a manual.
If you're in the drivers seat, double tap square to exit. And you use the directional pad to change weapons.Comment
