This game looks like a definite rental and possibly a "buy"

I've been meaning to get the first saint's row game but every time I go to my Blockbuster it's always taken out. Odd how such an old game relatively speaking is still popular for rental.

Sorry to bump it up but I hope the 2nd Saint's Row is beefed up as I started playing some of it today (yep it was finally at the video store) sadly....the game keeps freezing on me

I like the game well enough and I suppose i'll get it for cheap at EB Games. I'll definitely take a look at SR2 though.

I hope they fix online for #2. The online had so much potential with the active lobby and some unique game types, like Big A** Chains and Blinged Out Ride, but the lag made it unplayable most of the time.

SPTO, that was a major problem for me in the first game too. I think because the game constantly has to stream things off the disk combined with the fact that older 360 consoles may have had some problems withe lazer contributes to this. I recommend you save after doing anything.


Mike95 they did release a patch that helped out with this some. The online was totally broken when the game was released and it took them like 3 months to release a patch. I hope with the 2 year development time for SR2 there are no such problems.

IGN: First Look

Everyone expects to be able to change your face, the length of your brow and the contours of your character's mouth, but Volition is taking things a few steps further. Now you'll be able to change their taunt, compliment, walk and combat styles. Taunt options include things like The Dumper, Dog Pissing, Ride the Donkey, The Wanker, and Tea Bag. We'll let your imagination run wild at those possibilities. The different walks range from Pimp Walk to Crazy Walk which makes your character look like a meth head for lack of a better term. Compliments can be as simple as a salute or as complicated as a full-blown riverdance. Those, along with a combat style, come together to create the personality of your gangster which will apparently change the way that characters in the world react to your actions. Also, unlike in the first Saints, your character will actually have plenty of dialogue (there are over 60,000 lines of dialogue throughout Saints 2) to push the plot along. Hooray for no longer being a mute!

Not only can you change the outward appearance and demeanor of your crusading hoodlum but you can also change the aesthetics of your home base – known as a crib for those living the thug life. You can upgrade your pad with things like a stripper pole, nicer electronics, and other trinkets that will help to impress your low life friends.

Hopefully this doesn't release too close to GTA4, sounds like a pretty fun game.

My thinking is that this game will release in August or September. I don't think GTA 4 will bother it much but Mercernaries 2 will ship in Late August. Should be interesting how those 2 go against each other.

Saints Row 2 Details

To kickoff their Gamers' Day event being held in downtown San Francisco, THQ today announced the official release date, pre-order campaign plans, and the launch of the official website for Saints Row 2. The game will ship on August 26, 2008 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and gamers can pre-order their copy starting tonight (April 3) at 6 PM PST. THQ also announced the launch of the official website for Saints Row 2 along with the release of a new video from someone they're calling "Uncle Gary." Check it out below.

I wonder if this means Gary Busey is going to be a voice actor on this game. Oh and it's nice they're shipping out on my Birthday
