I'll probably go through the game a second time and consciously get stuff wrong just to see what happens.

It will probably be pretty much the same on both consoles or the PS3 version will be slightly better. The reason I say this is because when this game was initially in the works it was a PS3 exclusive IIRC.

Yeah I can see this being a one play through only game for me but i think it'll be such a cool ride that i'll enjoy it enough still to warrant the purchase. At least that's what i'm hoping.

Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

Yea, its a Rockstar game, so I know it will more than likely be good. But I doubt I will play through it a few times. maybe two if its that good, but I'm not sure. I am still hoping for at least online free roam, but I know thats a .001% chance.

From the way the previews sounded, going through the conversations multiple times won't always yield the same results unless you do it the exact same way every time.

Yea, but you're going to know pretty much all the details from the solved case. You'll remember who was guilty of the crime, who aided in the crime, who actually had no part, etc. Unless you can force yourself to forget all the details of the cases from the first play through its going to be hard to not get a little bored. It might still be fun a second time, but may get tedious as well.

What would be amazing was if they changed the cases every playthrough. Like you beat the game or whatever, and you play again and the guilty person is different, suspects react differently, etc. The replay-ability would be near limitless.

The amount of delays would be limitless to do that too.

Right, but how is that different from the storyline of any other game? Going back through a game is more about how well the gameplay is done than knowing how the story unfolds.

Okay, and the biggest gameplay mechanic in LA Noire is going to be whether or not you can tell when someone is lying. So knowing how each person comes into play and knowing the truth will limit that mechanic.

Wow, now that would be amazing but the delay with loading and such would make that aggravating too.

Sadly i think that is true. I'm approaching this game like Heavy Rain: ie a great ride while it lasts but with VERY limited re-playability. I probably should just rent it but I've had it pre ordered for a fair while and paid off so i'll probably just buy it instead.

I don't think it would be any different than Mass Effect where you purposely do the opposite of what you did the first playthrough to see what else happens.

But really, I don't care if it's only good for 1 playthrough. Most games not named NBA, NHL, NFL or GTA (or any other open-world game) only get played once by me anyways. I only played once through Batman Arkham Asylum and Mass Effect 1 & 2 and those are some of my favorite games ever.

Good news. Despite L.A. Noire having all these stupid pre-order's that are different for each retailer, they will have be available to everyone eventually.
While initially a GameStop pre-order exclusive, The Naked City bonus "vice case" will be available for digital purchase after the game's release. "All of the L.A. Noire pre-order content will be made available for purchase as DLC at some point after the game comes out," a Rockstar representative confirmed. "We have long planned to do this for all digital pre-order items."
