Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Rockstar Games' 'L.A. Noire' video game gets official soundtrack and remix EP
Music is integral to film noir classics, so it makes sense that Rockstar Games' L.A. Noire has its own jazzy soundtrack.
Recorded at Abbey Road by composer Andrew Hale (the film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and the video game The Getaway), the L.A. Noire Official Soundtrack includes "modern takes on the classic torch songs of the period," Rockstar's announcement says.
The music is produced and written by Stephen Coates (The Real Tuesday Weld) with guest vocals by Claudia Brucken (Propaganda), with additional music composed by Woody Jackson, whose work on Red Dead Redemption with Bill Elm won multiple awards.
But the game studio is also working with Verve Records on L.A. Noire: Remixed, a remixed EP of six jazz standards re-interpreted by modern DJs, producers and remixers.
The L.A. Noire: Remixed Tracklist
1. Elle Fitzgerald & Louis Jordan – Stone Cold Dead in the Market (Ticklah remix)
2. Lionel Hampton & His Orchestra – Hey-Ba-Ba-Re-Bop (Midnight Sun remix)
3. Dinah Washington – A Slick Chick (On the Mellow Side) (Maximum Balloon remix)
4. Louis Jordan – Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens (DJ Premier remix)
5. Gene Krupa – Sing Sing Sing (Truth & Soul Remix)
6. Billie Holiday – That Ol' Devil Called Love (Moodymann remix)
Also, throughout the game itself, music helps notify players that clues are around; as they explore, players will hear more than 32 classic jazz tracks from musicians such as Billie Holiday, Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and Thelonious Monk.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
So this DLC pre-order nonsense was because they couldn't fit it on disc(s)?
Though as the article says:
So it could only be 6-8 hours long.Rockstar doesn't tend to ballpark the number of hours it will take to complete their games, and the number of discs on this one doesn't exactly mean the game will take, say, three times as long to play as the single-disc Grand Theft Auto IV.
Remixes? Messin' with my Ella and Billie?
Oh that's a bonus thing not the in-game stuff. Alright they're off the hook.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Yeah not really that big of a deal for me. Especially considering the progression of this game is linear, you will only have to do it twice in the course of the game. It's not like we'll be switching discs all the time.
Haven't they already said its 25-30 hours to get through the game?Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
It's already been said that the game is 15-20 hours or somewhere around there.
3 discs for the 360 version is crazy. But like EG said it makes sense since this was originally a PS3 exclusive.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
Agreed.
Actually, I kind of liked it back in the PS1 days when games were on more than one disk. Gave you a sense of accomplishment when you finished a disk, lol.
But I'm on PS3 now, so it doesn't matter to me.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Yeah, the FF games in particular had pretty good disc-swapping points (read: climactic)Comment

Real crimes of 1947 LA, pretty cool even though it's only partially completed, some really wacky stuff.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
3 discs doesn't mean you only switch twice. Mass Effect 2 was 2 discs, but you swap twice. I spent like 40 hours in one playthrough, so it wasn't awful.
Still, I only think Mass Effect 2 and this game are non linear games that require swapping on the 360. Everything else is a linear RPG or Dead Space 2.Comment

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
this game could be what i always wanted the Law & Order games to be only set in 1947.

Re: L.A. Noire (PS3/360)
From the article I posted upthread:
Not to worry, Barrera said. "Since the game is built around the concept of progressing through individual cases from desk to desk, players on Xbox will find disc-swapping is hassle-free. In fact, players will only need to swap discs twice at natural breaks between cases without interrupting the flow of the game."Comment
