was the elevator comment a side comment or are you saying the grain helped you find that lol

One kinda frustrating part for me...I'm on a planet, walk up to some warehouse type thingy, goes to a cutscene where some enemies appear, and then I'm in the middle of a firefight with no hope of keeping any of my teammates alive...They are dumb and immediately get shot, and then it's me against a bunch. Maybe I'm the only one who's seen this type of behavior, but I've got a save just before the cutscene and I'm hoping (i'm on my 10th try right now) that I can somehow not die.

*edit* Eventually they find cover...just not 100% happy with the AI's decisions...they die way too easily sometimes

Part of it was my fault...but they're still not all that good at staying alive...especially if there's a "big gun" that's tough to beat. Just use cover and hope they're not idiots.

Its good and all...but if you are forced to have a conversation before a boss battle...die...and than retry and have to listen to this conversation everytime you failed to beat the boss...

          Voice Acting is great though.
Click All 4 face buttons (X,A,Y,B) at the same time and it'll fast forward through some stuff

Found that out mashing buttons during my 10th time through a cutscene, lol

Definitely taking a little getting used to with the "Save, die die die die die die die die die finally not die" gameplay again lol

              Loving the game so far.

Combat is a bit screwy for me though.

I think we just have to get used to this type of FPS combat. I have started using my other powers more, and really micromanaging my team, and it's helped me out. It's not really like Halo or COD4, you've gotta be a bit more careful/treat it differently...I know i've been slow to adjust, but I'm starting to pick it up over time.

I've not had a bit of a problem adjusting but then as an older gamer I used to play this sort of combat all the time. It's like riding a bike. I like the strategy of it. Works great!

Don't have to mash the buttons. It's the X button that skips the dialogue. There's a manual that comes with the game, fellas. It has information like this in there. Maybe check it out...

Oh, and I like the grainy effect. Looks more like a movie and less "videogamey" to me with it on.

Yeah, it was more that I'd recently played a week straight of CoD4, and in Mass Effect you're not going to survive just depending on your gun skill, no matter how good you are.

I also had to learn the semi-bosses a bit...sucks dying in 1 shot from some of them, it's just a lot of trial and error (no matter how slow you go).

                      Save early and often!

X don't skip what we are talking about, when you die, then load and go right into a cut scene. The manual is fairly poor for this game.

I'm a soldier and usually take a biotic heavy team with me so as soon as a battle starts I get my team to start floating the most dangerous enemies while I rake 'em with assault rifle fire. The only time I've gotten in trouble during battles is if they rush me and I get an enemy shooting me or the team unnoticed from behind.

Your team just isn't smart enough in a huge firefight, so you definitely have to micromanage them when up against large groups. Get them using all their biotics to neutralize the biggest threats. Against small numbers they do ok.

Also seem like you really need to focus party member upgrades in one area specific to them. Making a jack of all trades doesn't seem to work so well.

Yea, it looks like they want us to have all of our squad-mates focus thier talents on one area in order to gain access to the other six advanced classes (Commando, Shock Trooper, Nemesis, Bastion, Medic, & Operative).

I don't think those are related. The specialization classes you may unlock are determined only by your starting class.

Oh ok cool...The guide seems to be placing a lot of emphasis on acquiring one of the specialized classes, but none of them really interest me right now...I'm guessing I'll probably need to upgrade to those classes when I bump up to the harder difficulty levels.
