Re: BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams
I throw in ME2 and that game keeps me floored/on the edge of my seat. I simply love that game. Glad to see others are enjoying Bioshock 2 wish I could have been part of that group. I'm just glad I did not open the 2nd one so I can get my full refundThe poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

There is no demo. I liked the gameplay in the first one, but I will say that from a pure gameplay standpoint, I think the second one is an improvement is just about every way.Comment

Re: BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams
I'm maybe an hour into the 2nd and not totally feeling it. Seems well done and all, but not sucking me in like other games.
One thing that annoys me is that the Big Daddy was so awesome and tough in the first game, but now it seems like instead of being a Big Daddy i'm a Big P***y...Doesn't make sense and just feels off. I shouldn't be dying with 4 shots to some puny splicer. I don't feel like a Big Daddy should.
It's like they copped out and just swapped out the characters and didn't give a damn about the meaning of it.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

I just finished it and like I said I wasn't feeling it too much at the beginning (probably just cause I didn't want a sequel to this game). Anyways, the game really picks up. The last half of the game was simply awesome. Great set pieces, very engaging story. It was dark, gripping, and tragic.
I was pretty sketchy going into this game, but I came away absolutely loving the experience.Comment

It's funny because you're even way underpowered when you fight other Big Daddys.Comment

But I agree, way too weak compared even against splicersAaron

I was just "meh" the first few hours of the game. I urge you to stick with it.

It's weird, I loved the first but really never cared about the sequel...I know it's decent, but maybe Levine and the other guys behind the first leaving has gotten me "meh" about the series...Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams
I'm in the same boat mgo. LOVED the first, but put a few hours into the second over the weekend, and just don't have the desire to play it anymore. I tried, and want to give it another shot, but with The Show next week, and GOW3/RDR in the next couple months, I just don't see it happening. On top of that, I just got Shadow Complex and Trials HD today, and both are flat out awesome.
Like others, without the HOLY **** factor of seeing Rapture for the first time, this just seemed like another generic shooter to me. Even with everything else mostly the same, it just seemed boring to me. Who knows, maybe I am just so pumped for The Show that it's all I really want to play at this point.Comment

Re: BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams
Given that you can't actually die in the "game over" sense, they might as well make you a tank and then increase the challenge by limiting the first aid kits and such. That would make more sense story wise since nothing has been produced for the last 10 years or so.
However, when I'm way underpowered compared to the main character of the first game, the point of being a Big Daddy doesn't really exist.Comment

Re: BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams
Just ordered the Special Edition on Amazon today for $87 - I'm a big fan of concept art. Man, I'm so stoked, I've been waiting for this game a long time and now with an upcoming break in school for about a week I can log some time to it.
So I have avoided reading a lot about the game mainly because I want to be as surprised as when playing through the first, but I do have a question: how is multiplayer? It's not make or break because I want to play the story, but if the multiplayer is pretty solid and has some replayability I'll be happy to bury some of the games who've been holding onto my time. I guess my real question is: is it buggy/glitchy? lagged matches? good team balance? punish players for dropping early, etc? I hear it has RPG'esque attributes to the multiplayer side as in customization & upgrades. That should be addicting and cause me to come back for more.Last edited by elgreazy1; 02-25-2010, 02:42 PM.Comment

The level cap right now is 40 but the DLC on the way will raise that to 50. You can dual-wield meaning you can shoot a plasmid and a weapon at the same time, unlike the original where you had to switch back and forth.
It's a matchmaking system though you can party up with friends. The team balance could work better, just like in CoD. In fact the only game I've seen with a matchmaking system that picks teams appropriately based off of rank is Halo 3, but I digress. I have noticed lag in some games but for the most part it's been alright.Lux y VeritasComment
