Re: Red Dead Redemption
So i just started playing this game, and i have to say, so far i don't see what the big fuzz is all about. The pace is just too slow compared to GTA IV (another rockstar game).
The game has GREAT graphics, and John Marstom seem like a good character, but i really hope that the game will pick up sooner rather than later.
Also, will John hook up with the lady that saved his life? she's hot.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
SpoilerI wondered if that would happen myself. I don't want to ruin the story for you, so just keep going a bit further and you'll find out.
Also, the game definitely starts out kind of slow but once you get out of MacFarlane's Ranch and start exploring more locations things will pick up in a hurry.Currently Playing

Re: Red Dead Redemption
Well... it definitely picks up, but it's still a "slower" paced game. That's what makes it so brilliant though, it truly replicates the old west... you have to ride horses and buggies everywhere, walk to a lot of places, etc. A fast-paced feel wouldn't make sense.Comment

Re: Red Dead Redemption
Once you get past the MacFarland ranch stuff and into Mexico, the game was the most fun I thought. When you got to Blackwater the game kind of slowed down again.

Player control is far more tight in Red Dead Redemption than GTAIV, Red Dead made better use of Euphoria Engine (RockStar has stated this), and if I remember correctly, GTAIV didn't exactly start off all that quickly either. Both games did a pretty good job of telling a good story while you waited for the game to pick up steam.Comment
