I don't think you have a choice on PS3. Its a mandatory install if I can remember right.

      Mandatory data install.

Unless you're referring to what the 360 does as far as installing the entire game to the hard drive and just leaving the disc in. In that case, the PS3 doesn't have that option for its games.

MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

Just like on the game, I'd probably take off running if I heard that noise near me.

Think I'm gonna snag a copy of the GOTY Edition from WalMart when I get off work tonight. I never finished this game

After talking to a few fellows at work I just couldn't take it anymore. Headed over to GameStop and snagged the only GOTY Edition left as Target was sold out. I'm back!!!

There is usually some slight slowdown in the towns. I don't even notice anymore.

Just got my GOTY copy from Gamestop for $30.00. It was a tough decision between RDR and the GOTY Batman, RDR don't let me down! lol
                    PS3, we had a good run! (7/18/09-10/5/14)

I finally picked this up the other day. Hatfields & McCoy's on History got me in the western mood. I've got to finish L.A. Noire first, but this is going in the PS3 right after. Looking forward to it, as I've heard great things about the game.

was great in the beginning but soon after i got to the mexican part i got bored of the game, just nothing new to explore anymore. the world that was so exiciting in first place didnt offer any surprises after hours of playing. same goes for the gameplay. riding your horse, shooting here and there thats it. im really considering if i should buy anything else but sports games in the future. nothing else can really keep me playing over months. does anybody feel the same way?

I really loved this game, but like most it did grow stale after some time.
After completing it, I would pull challenges on myself. I'd wipe out a whole town and then see how many Federales I could take out before dying.
Beyond that, the missions grew old and tired and there wasn't as much to do.

When RDR was first revealed, the devs said they were making a completely dynamic world where every action had a reaction; Kill the town blacksmith and then you wouldn't be able to buy guns in that town anymore. And it could take real days or weeks before a new blacksmith could be found.
Not only that, but if the blacksmith had a family, the kin of this man might come to hunt you down one day.
And if you cleared a whole town, the same long duration would be needed to repopulate the centre.
Those are just a couple of examples of what they said, but none of them came true.
I've cleared whole towns and in less than 10 seconds, they're completely repopulated and nobody seems to notice that there was a blood bath there only seconds ago. You can walk right back in and nobody runs or scatters.

I think that has more to do with the limitations of the hardware, not the developers. So I'm really hoping we see stuff like this in next gen.

The game was still a great time, but I don't think there are too many people or games that can keep someone interested beyond 6-months (offline games anyway).
                            Even sports games.

That was the only thing that was disappointing to me. They kind of oversold the dynamic nature of the environment and the human interactions.

Other than that though, this game was incredible and is probably one of my top-5 games of all time. All of the different challenges and side missions I needed to do to get 100% completion kept me entertained the entire time.

Maybe six months is a little too much replay value to expect out of a non sports game. Unless you love COD Multiplayer.
