All 10 Left 4 Dead 2 melee weapons

Speaking to Valve's Chet Faliszek at PAX, we asked how many melee weapons will make it into Left 4 Dead 2. At the time, Faliszek told us he wasn't sure, but he knew there were more melee weapons in Left 4 Dead 2 than there were guns in the original game. We followed up with Faliszek after the show and we can now share all ten of the game's melee weapons. Without further ado, they are:

• Baseball Bat
• Cricket Bat
• Crowbar
• Electric Guitar
• Fire Axe
• Frying Pan
• Katana
• Machete
• Tonfa (police baton)
• Chainsaw

I still don't get the cricket bat, unless it's just entirely because of Shaun of the Dead. As an American who never even seen a cricket match, I'd rather continue to use assault rifles with tons of ammo to kill zombies.

Plus, as the melee weapons replace the pistol you carry, I'd rather have the trusty pistol with unlimited ammo.

Then don't use the melee weapons, it's that simple. You don't have to complain about everything.

ok...but that doesn't change anything. The melee weapons are still there. Might as well put them to good use.

I think I'm gonna pass on this DLC. With ODST coming out and then L4D2 in November, I just am not sure I see a place for it......unless its amazing

Those things are scary as hell. I was never scared in Left 4 Dead but if I played with those things I would be terrified.

Left 4 Dead 2 Demo Details Clarified

Valve has cleared up one of the two mysteries surrounding the Left 4 Dead 2 demo announcement, confirming to Shacknews that the demo will be exclusive to both Steam and Xbox 360 pre-order customers on October 27.

The company did not clarify whether the demo will go wide to everyone a week later on November 3, as some retailers are reporting. We'll report back when we find out.
