I read that the only downside to RTCW is the framerate issue - it gets really slow sometimes. It was the main thing keeping me away from this game. Any validity to this complaint?

    On the Xbox?

Never seen it on the Xbox. I don't usually notice a 30/60 fps fluctuation, but I do notice any serious framerate drop. And I've never seen one.

Unless they were talking about lag. If someone's hosting too many players, than it can get laggy and choppy.

Sorry, I've been out of it for awhile, there's an OS game every night? Wow I might have to pick this one up.

The review that I read that said it had framerate issues at various times in the game (not all the time) was from IGN. It gave it a really good score (a 9+ I believe). I could be mistaken, but I believe that the only time that it really got slow when there was a ton of action going on.

I think the framerate drop was in the multiplayer campaign. When I was playing 2 players doing the story I did notice that it had problems at times. As long as the screen is not split I've never seen a problem with it. Save the $5 if you like FPS just buy it, don't bother with the rental.
