Going to get this game very soon! I have been looking up things about the classes and can't decide. I know it probably won't make a huge difference in the long run, but any recommendations for my class? I was thinking either the Wanderer or the Pyromancer. I also want to make sure I am able to use a bow.

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
Ornstein and Smough shut me down. I haven't played in a while. Main thing is I can't summon help w/out getting invaded and humanity is so valuable. I will probably have to unplug the ethernet for this one.
I think I was just fighting knights before and trying to slowly upgrade my weapons.
Great game though..my god. Just getting to this part and past the archers made me feel like I had beaten the game..lolComment

Took down the dancing guy and rang the first bell after the Bell's. The Gargoyles weren't that bad, the Halberd tore them to shreds. I did get a sweet axe that bends during attacks. I did free.Spoilera neat looking knight dressed in gold armor, who is now hanging out at Firelink shrine
I think I'm going to bulk up a little before taking the second area. I'm still in chainmail, as the only armor vendor I've found was in the Undead Burg.Last edited by LambertandHam; 01-27-2014, 04:29 PM.Comment

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
Just picked this up on steam since its been almost two years since I last played it on PS3. Funny how much I remember and how much I don't remember. Also remarkable how much better it looks on PC with the graphics fixes. But I can tell you that this game is most certainly not like riding a bike. I am dying more now than when I first started playing back in 2011. A lot of that is probably due to early game content and trying to play a Wanderer now as opposed to the knight that I played before.
Probably going to get my feet under me a bit more and then install the Aggressive Mod since I still kind of remember where most of the enemies are and that takes a lot of the difficulty out of it.Comment

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
Sorry for the double post.
I've arrived in Blightown, and boy do I hate the place. The monsters aren't too bad, except the damn mosquitoes. I've tried the boss twice, and have died both times. She seems easy enough, but I need to go level up my armor and weapons a bit(only at SL 25).
Is it worth using souls for levels, or should I be focusing those souls on improving my gear?Comment

Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
I would say level enough to equip the gear you want to run with, then upgrade the weapons. You can survive as a level 25 if your axe is dropping 150 - 200 pts of damage on enemies. Adding to your stats doesn't increase the damage output of your weapons.
But that's just the way i played the game. Got strong enough to use the Demon Great Axe and a certain shield you'll find and blitzed them to the highest upgrades I could.

Yeah, it looks like I'm going to upgrade some gear. My hardest hitting weapon is the Drake Sword.I would say level enough to equip the gear you want to run with, then upgrade the weapons. Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)
More progress!
WellSpoilerthe Capra Demon(think that's him) is now dead. Took his dogs out, and basically "kited" him around the staircase. I have better gear, and am really enjoying the Scimitar on my Thief character.
The Depths are reminding me a lot of Dragon's Dogma, right up to the giant Rat. I did fall down a hole and get cursed to death by these frog guys. It isn't too bad as I can make souls up quickly, but the frame rate chugged big time when three of them were around me. After leveling up my Pyromancer's Flame, I'm going to head back down and try to light the Depths Bonfire.
Looking at most of the wiki articles on it, as well as forum posts, it seems that Pyromancy is an amazing skill to have.Comment
