There's no "better" weapons. It's all about movesets, sure some may do slightly more damage than another, but each weapon has different movesets. Some people prefer the uchigatana, others prefer the balder's side sword. There are a ton of weapons worth using. I personally like the zweihander the most.

Hmm. Yeah, coming from games like Dragon's Dogma and The Elder Scrolls series, I'm trying to wrap my brain around no "best" item. Usually it's a sword, axe, set of armor that you'll see most running around with. I do like it, since most things you find are viable, and not simply shop fodder.

I'll stick with the Zwei for now.

I think its worth it. If you're about to hit Sen's its a short trip too.

I like the Zwei too. It actually scales with both Str and slightly with Dex too. I love how quickly the Uchi hits and that the strong attack is the lunging thrust.

I had a previous character that I made a ninja with the uchi but now my main was rocking the Demon Great Axe and Havel shield with basically no armor...BECAUSE I HAVE A BIG SLAB OF ROCK.

              Lots of progress today.

I completed Sen's after falling victim to the blade traps way too much. The boss wasn't that bad, although I did spawn this tank of a Phantom(forget his name). Before heading to Londo I went and killed the big Butterfly. I thought the fight would be harder, but it died quickly to my pyro.

I think I'll level my armor and gear up a bit more before heading to Londo, that and I have to revisit some places.

If you haven't done it yet I would suggest not killing him. You are far enough along to open up Shiva of the East who sells it to you for 5k. Just go join the Forrest hunter covenant in darkroom past the sealed gate and talk to him after talking to the cat. Then meet him in blightown by the wheel elevator. But yes it's worth it. I just added it before hitting Lando and converted my iaito into the chaos blade and upgraded the uchi raw. Now I'm stuck at Ornstein and Smough again.

Yeah, I left him alive. The first time I found the cat, I was thinking of Alice in Wonderland

Not to mention her(?) rolling buddies later on in the forest.

I always wanted to get into this game, had it on the Xbox at first. After spending 3 hours trying to go through the skeleton area (I didnt know it was the wrong way until I was told) i didnt really get back into it.

I do have a question, is it possible to be a mage like character or summoner in this game? May sound stupid but I was wondering.

Yeah you can play using spells only, but they're crazy overpowered. You can kill bosses in a few hits.

I dont want to do it because they are OP, I want to do it because Mage are my favorite type of characters. I didnt see a spell option when I played though.

Cleric and sorcerer are the starting spell casters, with clerics having the healing miracles and spellcaster the offensive spells.

There's a kinda interesting side story to get the more powerful mage spells as well

Also, there are upgrade weapon paths really useful for both clerics and mages that can make your melee hit pretty damn hard at the same time as well since the upgrades are based on int and faith stats.

As a side not about magic, I swear some bosses get more aggressive because you use magic and can hit hard and fast. The final boss of the DLC I never really had a clear opening to cast a spell the entire time.

Yeah I'm trying a Combat Mage type build right now that I'm going to go the enchanted weapon route with for the Int scaling which is supposed to be pretty good.
