Re: Mass Effect 3
I hope the story will be using already established in-game lore, like Dragon Age II did. Aftermath of the genophage, rebuilding from the Reaper attacks, and the aftermath of the Quarian-Geth lore.
Obviously, if they make a sequel, they'll need to make certain choices cannon, but I don't mind that. I personally don't care for prequels, especially something with the first-contact war. That conflict didn't last nearly as long, and wasn't big enough to become a fully-fledged game, and I doubt there's any situation to make real choices considering everything is always cannonized regarding that.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
I don't think anyone would happy with a sequel that had pre-determined choices in it (except a few). Either have a prequel or a non cannon story from Shepherd's.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect doesn't have any room for a decent prequel based on the way it's made. It's not like Halo, for example, where you don't make any choices.
Unless we go back to the Prothean era where we have pretty much no established history except for the Reaper attack, but even then you're always aware of the impending demise, so in the long run none of your choices will ever matter anyways.
Predetermined cannon is the only good way to continue the series, and if the game is non-canon I would just not buy it, because it's precisely that. Non cannon. Why should I care for anybody if it doesn't exist within the confines of the ME universe.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
I wouldn't mind a sequel set a couple hundred years after the events of ME3.
Only issues I see with that is so many choices Shepard made throughout ME1-3 effected how the universe shaped out to be in the end. A sequel would either have to create a canon set of choices for the series, or find a way to integrate everything from the original games in how your individual universe is shaped.
I also think it could also fall under the same issues I had with Dragon Age 2. After fighting off impending doom and threat like the darkspawn in DA:O, DA2 the story and conflicts just felt weak. Anything less than the impending destruction of the universe in a new ME would leave the game feeling like a letdown.NHL: Vegas Golden Knights

Re: Mass Effect 3
Let it be a sequel a 100 years later and you be the great grandchild of Shephard. All the destroyed planets will be rebuilt. The Krogan society would have been rebuilt as well. Then they should develop a new enemy story arc.
Make it vast enough where they can establish another trilogy. My way of thinking is that if the Protheans had stasis chambers during their cycle, what would have prevented other alpha species of their time from not developing stasis chambers as well ?
The whole universe could be littered with undiscovered stasis chambers buried deep in the ground some where from previous cycles stretching as far back as thousands of years. The possibilities are endless.Comment

Make Shephard the villain! I've been waiting for a Bioware game to take my old save and make that character the lead villain.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
One prequel DLC I would want to see is one about playing as Saren. I loved the first ME book and overall Saren is a badass character. Problem with him is how do choices work and by nature he is a renegade character so how would that work as well. But it would be cool. Or play as another Turian Spectre with Saren.Last edited by Altimus; 09-21-2012, 08:27 AM.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
So I got this game last week and just finished the part where (not sure if this needs to be spoilered but I will anyway)Spoileryou have to chose between letting Legion "humanize" the geth, or side with Tali. I sided with Legion and Tali committed suicide because her people were destroyed. The whole scene was incredible and I had a pit in my stomach the entire time.
I love this series. I wish I could've played the 1st one and gone all the way through, but 2 was fantastic and I'm loving 3 so far.Comment

Re: Mass Effect 3
It would be great if they make the sequel and new trilogy or something where you play as a descendant of Shepard on down the time line with the decisions you made effecting everything. Are the Geth dead? Are the Krogan still around? Are the Quarians Wiped out, Are humans the dominant species, etc...
Could make your new game much more different than everyone elses depending on what you did.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Re: Mass Effect 3
So if they do a seaquel a that is set in the future of the series it might be cool if they did a Shepard clone. That way you could carry over some of the choices you made.
I'm sure that won't be it but it's an idea.Gamertag and PSN Mrclutch1013
