Anyone pick this up yet? Saw it yesterday at Target, but I never played the first one (didn't have a N64), so I didn't pick it up.

The second half of this game (everything after Gerudo fortress) really wasn't that great, though the awesome final stage made up for it somewhat.

I think I'd want to play through Majora's Mask instead if I was going to go back and pick up one of the N64 Zeldas again. Never did get very far in that one since I only rented it once.

Also, Twilight Princess was horrible. I made it like halfway through that game and just lost interest.

I thought Twilight was just trying a bit too hard to be Ocarina again. I will get a 3DS and this game eventually though, but sort of waiting for one or two other games I want to buy before taking the plunge.

PS, I'm with you on Majora's Mask. I love that game and the fact that it actually was a different kind of Zelda. Some people didn't like it, but it's so good, and again, so different, which is a big deal for Zelda.
I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.

It was just too different, IMO, to the point where it didn't feel like as much of a Zelda game. It's never been a series that was meant to be rushed through, and yet that's exactly how you had to play Majora. Either that, or you bored yourself to tears hitting the Song of Time reset button and repeating everything once you realize you didn't move quickly enough.

It's an essential part of the game (I mean, you can't even get in more than one of the dungeon levels on a single 3 - day cycle). I just think it was a poor creative decision in a series that doesn't have many of them.

Wow, apparently all 4 GameStops in my area are looking at limited non-preorder quantities tomorrow. Even though I know GameStop MO is to get preorder numbers when at all possible, I still buckled down and dropped a 5 to guarantee my copy at 10am tomorrow...Even though it's a little ridiculous that I'm pre-ordering a game that comes out in less than 24 hours.

That's exactly why I didn't like it. The 2nd time I did the Song of Time I stopped playing the game. I just don't feel like games with built in timers are very fun. Wasn't a fan of Dead Rising for the same reason.

Yeah that is the main reason why I didnt finish Majoras Mask and absolutely couldnt stand dead rising. Thank goodness time sensitive gaming hasnt caught on. I dont want to have the constant pressure of time working against me in a game, I always felt uncomfortable and full of anxiety. At least MM let you rewind time, How the DR and DR2 guys think punishing the gamer with a literal game over screen for not triggering a mission in time was a good idea is beyond me.

Got my copy. Make sure you register at Club Nintendo to get a free OoT soundtrack CD. Limited quantities, but I'm excited I have mine. It's going to take forever to ship though.

I don't think it's a mechanic that should be in a ton of games, and yes, it is clearly an arbitrary way to add tension to a game, but I always just felt like MM was such a cool game. Again, I'd rather see Zelda go that route once in a while rather than the big change being the art style.

Ok any Zelda fan whether you've played it before or not should pick this up if you have a 3DS.
The 3D is very cool (Nani looks like he come out of screen lol and the light particles also).
Using the aiming via the 3DS movement it adds to it but due to needing to be in the center when viewing 3D it takes some getting use to.
I haven't made it far but love it so far even though I've played it before.
I love how the inventory stuff is right on bottom screen and after a couple clicks you're all set.
Anyways I think this tops all other 3DS games out so far but being a Zelda lover I'm probably a little biased.

Is there a way to save the game ,while in a dungeon, that doesn't require you to go to the beginning of the dungeon when you come back? If so, how do you do it? Also: once I register the game does it automatically set me up for the soundtrack.

                            Thanks.

If a box did not pop up after registering it means (from what I've heard) the supplies are all gone. I didn't get one either.
Anyways.. if you save and quit you start back at Links house. I always make sure I'm out of the dungeon first. If I can't finish dungeon first then I just save and leave on while it's on charger.
