Heavy Barrel was a Contra-ish type shooter but it was top down. Pretty underrated, I enjoyed it very much.

Awesome lol. Still to this day haven't beat this game, it's ridiculous.

Man, how in the flying **** do you beat this game? I remember being a shorty and being completely lost until Jason came out. And how in the hell does a single room cabin mysteriously turn into a 20 room home while looking for Jason? The level design was pure wackness.

Nice to see this thread getting some love.

Today I've played some Super Contra and now am playing Zelda 2. I'm sure most of you have played it, or at least seen this meme around.

              Re: NES/SNES Gaming Thread

I miss the good days of NES where almost every game was 2 player co-op. Didn't matter if the second player was just the orginal character with a different color outfit on, it was nice to be able to hook up with a friend or family and try to beat a game.....which was usually beatable in one sit-through.

Not sure if these games were mentioned yet but a few classics for NES was "Bad Dudes"(I'm Bad!) and the various Disney themed games like Ducktales and Darkwing Duck. Good times.

I'm made as hell my parents dropped 50 a pop on these games back then when you can fit a dozen or so on a small flash drive.

                I can't believe I didn't think of that game.

Next to Super Mario 3, I poured more time into that game than any other..

Wow, that vid brought back memories. Disney was brilliant when it came to games back then.

Ya, Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Chip N Dale, most of those Disney platformers were awesome. Another similar one is Tiny Tunes Adventures, basically a SMB3 copy, but still a good game.

BTW, Ducktales 2 and Chip N Dale 2 are some of the more rare NES games, so if you can find them cheap, definitely pick them up.

Game was extremely easy to beat if you got the torch in the woods or pitchfork of the 2nd version of Jasons mom. Especially if you had the sweater.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but the game is loosely based off of the second movie. The sweater/pitchform are two of the things used to "kill" Jason. It's also the first time you see his mother decomposed head.

I was like 7 or 8 when this game was out. If a game didn't have clear straight forward levels unlike Friday the 13th then confusion often struck me. But for some strange reason, I have detailed memories of the game followed by memories of head scratching

I was around the same age, and it used to irritate me to no end before I figured it out.

I actually just bought a game called Gimmick that never came out for the NES, it just came out in Japan... A site it selling it now, though, for the US NES.

Also, I'm thinking of getting Action 52. It's a terrible, terrible cart - but it's almost worth having in the collection just to say I have it.
