Assassin's Creed III

Picked the game up at midnight release.

The only other assassins creed game I've played before was revelations I believe and I got maybe 40percent through that before my PS3 that I had it downloaded on took a crap graphically (just a Netflix machine for the bedroom now.)

It's installing right now I'm hoping for some great things even if I am new to the series.

As an AC noobie I quit after 5 hours. The grind just wore me down.

5 hours? The intro on the ship took you 5 hours?

By the way, never mentioned how I loved hearing John de Lancie's voice narrating at the beginning. Q was one of my favorite Star Trek: TNG characters.

I went thru part in like 15-20 minutes and the only reason it took that long was because I was wondering all over the ship seeing what else was going on.

If it takes someone 5 hours to thru the beginning of the game, then you're either not sober or not having all of your attention on the game, lol.

The tutorial is sequences 1-5, which takes around 4 to 5 hours.

When Conner was taking the boards off the wall that showed the rankings of them Templars, how did he know Haytham was his father? There was no previous mention of Conner knowing, and it seems like he only realized who Charles Lee was at the time he saw his picture up on the wall.

Is Conner a decedent of Ezio, and Altiar? He has to be right?, since Desmond is taking control of his ancestors (or however you want to put it).

Im so confused right now because I thought that the Animus only allowed you to go back in time to one of your ancestors. If thats the case, then im certain Ezio, and Altiar was not related to Connor's mom, which would mean they would have to be related to Haytham.

Which brings me to my next question. How in the world did Templars get mixed in with a bloodline full of Assassins?

Is all this explained over the course of the game? If it is, then please dont tell me, but if it's not, I will appreciate the explanation. This makes my head hurt, but not more the MGS

Ok i was wondering what in the world people were talking about training missions. I was thinking the first section where you go back in before the world is built. I was wondering how in the world that took people 5 hours. I'm in sequence #2 and I didn't have any thoughts about it being a tutorial sequence.

I did. I walk up behind 2 guys with the hidden blade and it doesn't work,only gets one. I even held the X button out of combat to make sure he had both blades. It looked like the patrol was designed to be taken out like that.

Yeah the only time I've done it is from the air. It's unfortunate, but I enjoy this game way too much to let that bother me.

I just did it to two random guards outside of a mission, maybe it's sensitive to where you are in regards to the two?

Anyway, I really don't like the contextual combat.

Oh man this part in the Ben Franklin database had me laughing. It's like the game knows me.(Doesn't give anything away but spoilered if you want to see it on your own.)

Franklin was a scientist, inventing things like bifocals and more efficient wood stoves when he wasn't mapping the Gulf Stream and discovering how electricity worked. (What have YOU done today? Made yourself a microwave meal and sat about in your underwear. Oh well done, you.)

I didn't play Revelations or Brotherhood, so maybe I missed how this is all connected. I certainly don't have an explanation. But wasn't Haytham a good guy early in the game? How did he become the enemy? None of this makes sense right now, but hopefully it'll get figured out in time.

I am sure they are all related. I speak a little bit of Arabic and this is really cool but Haytham actually means "Young Eagle" in Arabic!

im a history buff, who loves open world games like RDR and GTA...so this game is greatness

Wow, I just had the most epic fight I've ever had in any video game. I'm in sequence 7 (not that it matters) and I'm going through and liberating parts of Boston. As I was doing one side-quest mission for that, I somehow got into a fight with the guards in North Boston...and they just kept coming.

There was a section of street that was COVERED from building to building in bodies on the ground and the guards just kept coming. I'm going to say I killed probably 70 before my health was finally whittled down. I kept trying to get a picture of it with my phone but since I live alone there was no one else to take it. But all those bodies on the ground was impressive to look at, not to mention the badass feeling I got mowing them all down.

Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Singapore (the naval battles) did a fantastic job of this game. It's easily one of the best games Ubisoft has published. It's amazing at how good this company is with their AAA games now. :wink:

If you guys think that it's pretty cool thus far, just wait until you get further into the game.


BTW, some of the mini-games that you'll come across are pretty cool.

I wish Ubisoft would publish this as a stand alone XBLA, PSN, Steam, iOS, and Android game. It's like a mix of Chess and Checkers. The AI is no slouch!
