Re: Gears of War: Judgment
Thats a bummer. The enemies are too......exaggerated, I suppose would be a good word. Locust were the perfect sci fi blend of man and creature. Oh, and they didn't explode lol. The lambent just look goofy as **** in my opinion.Comment

Great, back to the visceral gunfights. I just bought Gears 3 and I cant STAND fighting lambent. The exploding enemies look extremely corny to me. I hope I dont have to fight these garbage designed enemies for the whole Gears 3 campaign do I?
Someone please tell me that the lambent are only on that first boat stage. If so I might be able to suffer through it to get back to the rawness.

Re: Gears of War: Judgment
They didn't bother me at all as I look at them as the Imulsion affecting all life on the planet of Sera turning them to the lambent creatures. I personally would of got tired of fighting the Locust 3 games in and it was a nice mix. Now with Gears J, we are going back to just fighting the Locust. I am still not sure why EPIC is so against doing the Pendulum Wars. They had something about humans v humans would not be cool, but if the story surrounding them would be, why not.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Re: Gears of War: Judgment
which was horrible, it's why i got rid of it... you couldn't see the actually game very well - just a bunch of glowing enemies and heads up display crap. If the game looked like the trailers it would have been awesome. Less HUD = BetterLiquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Microsoft and Epic Games today unveiled a new “Gears of War: Judgment” video entitled “The Guts of Gears,” giving fans an in-depth preview of the most intense and action-packed “Gears” campaign yet in the highly anticipated blockbuster, which launches worldwide on March 19, 2013. Narrated by the game’s hero and fan-favorite character Lt. Baird, the video offers a sneak peek at the wealth of exciting new campaign features, including the dynamic Smart Spawn System, new weapons, dynamic defense scenarios, Declassified Missions, new player rewards, and more.
Additionally, Microsoft and Epic Games also announced that initial launch quantities of “Gears of War: Judgment” will include a Games on Demand Xbox LIVE download token for the epic game that started it all, “Gears of War,” in all worldwide regions except Germany.* Research indicates that more than half of the consumers who played “Gears of War 3” did so without having experienced the original title from Epic Games. Demo coming in March
The Gears team has sent me the following details to share with you regarding an upcoming Gears of War: Judgment demo and how you can gain early access.
Pre-order your copy of “Gears of War: Judgment” online or at any GameStop location nationwide to get exclusive three-day early access to the most anticipated blockbuster of this spring beginning March 15; demo available publicly to all Xbox LIVE Gold members on March 19
GameStop, Microsoft and Epic Games are thrilled to announce that “Gears of War” fans across the United States will be able to join the fight against the Locust Horde early through the signature new multiplayer mode in “Gears of War: Judgment,” OverRun. Early access on Xbox LIVE begins March 15 exclusively to GameStop PowerUp Rewards™ members who preorder “Judgment” online or at any GameStop location nationwide, and the demo will be accessible to all Xbox LIVE Gold members worldwide once the game launches on March 19.*
The “early access” experience for PowerUp Rewards members who preorder at GameStop will be available from Friday, March 15 at 11:59 p.m. PT to Monday, March 18 at 11:59 p.m. PT. This offer also applies retroactively to members who have previously preordered the game at GameStop.
As an added bonus, multiplayer experience points (XP) earned will carry over to the final game for players who purchase and play “Judgment” in the first week following its U.S. release, allowing them to get a jump on the competition and begin unlocking special rewards, like new weapon skins, medals and achievements.
OverRun is a thrilling new class-based competitive mode that pits Locust and COG soldiers in a head-to-head battle unlike anything “Gears” fans have experienced yet. An objective-oriented mode that lets five-player teams alternate between playing as Locusts and COG soldiers, OverRun marks the first time that a class-based, competitive multiplayer experience has been introduced in the “Gears of War” series.
Check out a video tutorial of the new mode here:
On top of the “early access” experience, fans who preorder “Judgment” from GameStop will also receive two exclusive pre-order bonuses for use in competitive multiplayer modes:
“Young Marcus” character skin – Decorated war hero Marcus Fenix is the legendary leader of Delta Squad, a small group of COG soldiers responsible for saving mankind from destruction at the hands of Locust and Lambent forces. This exclusive character skin takes Marcus back in time, six weeks after the end of the Pendulum Wars, and during the chaos of Emergence Day – a time before he was hardened by his long imprisonment.
Lambent weapon skin – This exclusive weapon skin lets you show off your grub-slaying exploits and customize select weapons with the emulsion of your fallen Lambent foes.
Additionally, everyone who preorders “Judgment” from any retailer worldwide will receive the Classic Hammerburst, a fearsome and effective weapon that served as the standard-issue assault rifle of the Locust Army.

Re: Gears of War: Judgment
I can't believe the lack of replies here.
No Locust, no DBNO, no single life modes (Execution/Warzone/Guardian), 4 game types at launch (Overrun, FFA, TDM and Domination [How COD of them]). Loadout classes and red cog vs blue cog?
My biggest gripe about the change in Gears Judgment is its a change that's already been done before. Gears 1-3 was different especially with the cover system (at the time of Gears 1). Instead it's all become vanilla. Its like Gears and Call of Duty had a baby after a drunken hookup.
I canceled my pre-order because I just don't see anything good coming from this game, but I'll rent it at Red Box or wait a few months when it drops to $30 like Gears 3 did. I can't see paying full price for a Gears game when the last one came out a little over a year ago.
No Guardian is basically the killer for me. I love that mode in 3 as much as I loved it in 2.Comment

Re: Gears of War: Judgment
Wait, hold up! No Execution or Warzone? What's up wit that? I was starting to get the itch for some Gears of War multiplayer too. Gears is the only shooter I enjoy playing online.
Guess my only option at this point would be to pickup a used copy of 3.Comment

Re: Gears of War: Judgment
So after canceling my Amazon pre-order, I watched a 20 minute Overrun video and pre-ordered again from Microsoft Store for Alex Brand, Classic Hammerburst and 1600 MS points.
Overrun looks like it will be a lot of fun. Still worried the game is going to be awful though.Comment

Re: Gears of War: Judgment
Broke down and paid the game off this afternoon on my lunch break. The recent announcement of Execution being apart of a free DLC package in April, plus the $20 credit Best Buy is giving to Gamers Club Unlocked members sealed the deal for me.
My backlog of games is just gonna have to wait come March 15th. Gears mulitplayer will be eating up all of my gaming time.Comment
