Hope I make it to the second survivor to get my stuff back as I had a few flares and a couple boxes of ammo and some food.

The game does a great job of giving you the feeling of being alone and dread around every corner.
The gamepad is used as your inventory screen, radar and a sensor to read locks and search area for potential loot.

Graphic wise its not bad but not great. Then again so far I've been about 90% in the dark or near dark.
If you loved what RE used to be you'll love this.
You will die so the real question is how many survivors will it take to complete the game.
I lost three when they invaded my space. You really have to time your cricket bat swing and the gun is almost useless because of the noise. I think the thing about this game is that it really is survival horror. I check my radar every few seconds.

The only thing I do not like is it seems like the AI spots me even if I am far away and just peeking at the situation. Other than that, fun game.

Why can't we get a true survival horror zombie game for the PS3/360? Dead Island was alright, but this actually has the looks of a true horror game.

Yeah I learned the timing the bad the way.. Lol

Are you making sure to turn off you flashlight? It sucks when the lights off but when I see the radar picking up something near I switch it off. I was able to sneak up behind one and get the drop on him/it.

And absolutely right it's a survival horror game.
I ended up starting over because I was totally not thinking right. I forgot about the storage box in the saferoom and was not stocking it.

You really need to plan out your movements(Flare usage etc.. )and take your time.
Love how you can find planks and baracade doors if you have a hammer that is....

And there's nothing more tense than zombies banging a door and you know in a few minutes they are coming in and your frantically looking for an escape route because you didn't plan ahead or it just happened by surprise...

I think it is so funny that the guy on the radio keeps telling you how his and his group knew this was coming and fortified a lot of places....and yet...every one of those places they fortified have zombie problems. Also he seems to indicate that he is the last one of the group, so how well could they have prepared? The second he asks me to kill Andrew Ryan I am turning the game off.

So yesterday I started over as I was an idiot and totally forgot about stocking up the safe room.

Yeah, the metal container in the safe house is a big help.

I always try to keep as little as possible in my backpack for 2 reasons:

                  1. I want to be able to loot as much as possible during missions.

                  2. I don't want to risk losing valuable items if I can't get them back from my old zombie character...

That actually happened to me once. I was jumped by a horde while trying to retrieve the contents of my old backpack, and it was all gone by the time I returned to that spot for the third time.
                  Now, more than ever

                    Re: ZombiU (Wii U)

                    My Impressions:

                    Survival Horror = Yes Sir
This isn't a run and gun find 50 boxes of shells and go to town type game. When you do finally find some stuff in a drawer etc.. you are like YES!!

You will be constantly surveying the situations and making the most use out of the ammo you do have.
1 on 1 is usually a "use bat" save the bullets.. scenario.
You will die but the key is learning and incorporating what you learned into the next survivors efforts.
Conserving what you have in inventory and not being wasteful is a must. You can even gather planks to use to barricade doors.

If you have a friends list going your dead survivors can show up in your friends games. I had a pic sent to my system of one of my past survivors after a friend took them out
The gamepad functions as a radar, inventory control (including when you are looting bodies, drawers etc..) and hacking device.
Just be careful as the game is still going on when you are digging into your backpack!

Haven’t gotten very far in the game yet but what I have gotten through was very enjoyable and full of tense moments and moments I made some idiotic mistakes.
I’ve also had some good “Oh Yeah!” moments where a plan came together and worked like a charm.
The game has simply been a blast and well worth it if you love survival horror games.

It’s not all roses though as the game does have some faults.
Graphically it’s fine but not eye popping. Then again I’ve only been in the dark or with a flashlight on.
Note on the flashlight. The batteries will drain and light will go out but no batteries have to be found.
Once you turn the light off or it loses its charge it recharges in just a little bit.

The character you control does not have a real sense of “weight” to them. Controls and movements are fine but the lack of a sense of weight is missed.

You have the all familiar exploding barrels but “so far” that’s it that I’ve seen. I’ve even shot at some extinguishers with no affects except holes in the canister.
                    Spoiler

That’s about it. Again this is with just a few hours into it and I simply can’t wait to get back into it. Starting Saturday I’m off for 5 days so I’ll be playing a lot then.

                    Bottom line for me:
Gameplay is great with the tense and holy crap moments. Great sense of being alone except for when your “helper” chimes in.
Very good use of the gamepad
A hardcore mode you can play where when you die.. game over and no restarting with a new character.
Will have to try this out after I finish my first play through.

Graphics not as good as I hoped but nothing that hampers the experience.
Lack of weight to the characters takes a bit away.

Solid ”Must play” if you like survivor horror games.
                    If I had to score it… 8.5

Very excited to see how/ if this is an ongoing series.

While I will check it out eventually, I'm going to go through the game first on my own.
Plus I want to try the no lives level also... that should cause a few new words to be said..

And I would add that I'm sure this wasn't his first play through. There are certain things that unless you know their coming you are screwed. Could be wrong and since I didn't read it he may have said it wasn't. Or maybe people are that good. Could be.

There's a part in the beginning that after I had started over it was "easier" due to knowing what was about to happen.

There's an XBL game coming out called State of Decay and it sounds a lot like ZombieU.
