I'm curious about the Hunter subclass. I have looked at that a few times and when I compared the two classes with the R2 button it shows my sub class being significantly lower in all three areas. Is there an advantage to using that sub class? I can't find any info on what it is, how to use it. Is it something that when I change to it I have to level it up, or does everything translate over? LOL so many questions, so little info provided by Bungie

After ou hit level 20 you still earn xp, just not levels and it doesn't visually indicate xp earned. The xp goes towards further class and weapon/gear unlocks. You can unlock everything.

You can freely switch back and forth between subclasses. Technically, the class you start as is a subclass as well. Hunter - Gunslinger or Hunter - Bladedancer.

While gaining experience it goes towards the class currently selected. All progress in both subs save and you can switch back and forth on the fly just like you would switch a weapon.

It does visually indicate xp just not towards level up. If you "mouse over" your level it opens a tooltip window. Shows you how much xp till another mote of light is given too you.

Did not know that, neat. I was just thinking while playing at the bottom of the screen it would show the bar and +x when you gained xp. It also shows you progress after a mission/strike/etc.

Ok thanks, but does that sub class come with different weapons? Abilities? Basically, what can I do as a Blade Dancer that differs from Gun Slinger? Looks as though Bungie has left that for us to figure out... Sigh

Basically sub classes are broken into 2 categories. Offensive oriented and defensive oriented. Weapons be the same, the only difference is your special attack. It will either be offensive oriented or defensive oriented.

Take Titan class for example. One sub class special move is offensive oriented in that it attacks enemies when you use it. The other sub class is defensive oriented, the special move don't attack people, it instead puts up a protective barrier around you and your fire team.

I also think you could say it's like a self-serving sub-class and one that helps your teammates.

Like the Titan one, the offensive you basically just destroy people with the Hulk Smash thing, the defensive one you can put up a shield to protect both yourself and others.

Warlock class, the offensive one allows you to basically go Dragonball Z on people's asses and just destroy, or you can do the other one where you greatly increase your abilities as well as any nearby teammates (and can also revive yourself).

With its ability to grenade spam I'd argue that Sunsinger is way more Dragonball Z then Voidwalker.

Also if you unlock one subclass, they unlock for every character from the beginning of the game so if you start a new character, you'll have that subclass unlocked already.

You mean every character of the same class right? I can't bring my Warlock to 15 then start as a titan/hunter and have the subclasses unlocked can I?
