Re: Destiny
The way they describe this exotic upgrading stuff irks the **** out of me, so we work for weeks to be blessed enough to find that exotic, now you have to wait for weeks just so xur might, maybe have that exotic again for you to upgrade? Considering the weeks on end people have waited for xur to have the one exotic they want only for our to have the same **** week after week, I just see this as being a huge pain in the ***. Then on top of this you have to upgrade the thing again.
Don't know why they just don't pop that extra upgrade slot on the exotic we already have, we're still going to need the exotic shards to upgrade the stupid thing. It just feels like because we sunk hundreds of hours into the game and got the stuff we wanted, now we get ****ed over and have to do it all over again for a relatively mediocre upgrade that we have no choice but to do since we can't keep up at 31 when the New hard raid Will be at 32 and balanced for the higher damage.Comment

Re: Destiny
I'm thinking of picking this game up at some point to play with my buddies, but I'm just wondering if it's too late now because all my friends are pretty much level 20 & up. And I don't have much time to play during the week, so it would probably take me twice the amount of time it would normally take to level up.Comment

Re: Destiny
So I've never seen these things before.
On Earth, Hive come down and take over an area and if you kill the "Blade of Crota", you get to use the sword for a while.--
Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

Yeah I don't know how I feel about this either. What's the point of upgrading Exotics from this point on when you upgrade them you have to do it all over again? The only reason I can see is that you will have to wait until Xur has the upgrade you need and until then you want to have a leveled exotic.

Re: Destiny
Yeah that made zero sense to me. I don't understand that at all. I hope it is simply a misunderstanding and it doesn't happen to all exotics as they describe. The way they describe this exotic upgrading stuff irks the **** out of me, so we work for weeks to be blessed enough to find that exotic, now you have to wait for weeks just so xur might, maybe have that exotic again for you to upgrade? Re: Destiny
What I think is going to happen is that any exotic that you currently have, if you want it to reach the next damage level of 323, you will have to spend 8k on glimmer, buy an exotic shard from Xur (or get one from dismantling an unwanted exotic) and then he will trade it in for the next level exotic and all the current upgrades will be back to the base. However I think the damage will start at 300 so you won't necessarily lose damage, but you may lose the perks on the weapon and have to re-upgrade those. That's the way I took it at least.Comment

Re: Destiny
My only problem with this whole system is: all my previously earned and upgraded gear becomes obsolete. This includes the raid weapons from the VOG. Was that really necessary? Why make people put all that work in and then, essentially, reset them to zero? Is this just another way for them to extend the length of their DLC without adding new content? What I think is going to happen is that any exotic that you currently have, if you want it to reach the next damage level of 323, you will have to spend 8k on glimmer, buy an exotic shard from Xur (or get one from dismantling an unwanted exotic) and then he will trade it in for the next level exotic and all the current upgrades will be back to the base. And what happens when the next expansion comes out? Will everything be reset again in another three months?
You should just have ways to upgrade your existing gear without having to re-buy, re-roll, etc. And still no talk of them increasing caps on anything. I really hope they rethink this system.
Edit - I would be more okay with this if you at least got your costs back when you traded things in. Otherwise I just wasted all those shards/energies, glimmer, etc.
2nd edit - Also, how does this affect light levels? Does this mean you drop down in light if you trade in an exotic piece?Last edited by jwilphl; 12-03-2014, 05:11 PM.Comment
