I think that's some BS wordplay, no way green weapons are higher than 365 and green weapons can't have near the perks. They walk in there with Praedith's Revenge and surprised a green HMG was more effective? Or they specifically gutted year one weapons behind the scenes.

Yeah I think it's BS and I hate all this nonsense about that's how typical MMOs work...I don't care if that's how WoW worked or whatever. Honestly it just seems like an extremely lazy approach by Bungie by saying we can't make a gun as good as Fatebringer or we are too lazy to do so...so we are going to make it obsolete.
I love Destiny but it seems to try and kill any kind of variety and depth of weapons and armor by replacing them all with each DLC/edition.

Re: Destiny
It's not just WoW. It's every rpg. WoW. Dragon Age. Mass Effect. Kotor. Elder Scrolls. Hell, even Call of Duty does it a little. You get Fatebringer from something you do at level 30. Why should it still be viable at 40?

Destiny
Why would you not want it to be viable? Lol
I think you're missing my bigger point, they have all these different weapons you can choose from and with both DLCs they've taken them all away (with exception of the raid weapons) and replaced them. Seems lazy and an easy way of saying...look new content!
Don't really feel like arguing, some people will side with me and others will side with you, I don't real care. It's just my opinion, and I think that this general mechanic of RPGs/MMOs or whatever you wanna call it is stupid.
EDIT: Not trying to be a jerk I just don't understand the argument that every game in this (insert genre here) does it so Destiny. I think Destiny has a chance to be unique and take a different path but that's just me.

Re: Destiny
So the Dragon Age DLC made your stuff from the base game useless? No? Then maybe you stop that garbage rhetoric. Want to talk about power creep, how about new green weapons being stronger than 365, the new top end going to be 600? What's going to happen in 10 years, going to be using a 2000 attack Gjallarhorn?
Normal progression would make sense, this idea that a green in TTK is better than the best legendaries is malarkey.Comment

Re: Destiny
Taking away vendor weapons always seemed silly to me. But Crota's End weapons should be better than VoG weapons, and PoE should be better than CE, and the new raid weapons should be better than PoE. That doesn't make Vog weapons useless; you get those to get to Crota; his stuff gets you to Skolas. PoE stuff gets you to the new raid. New raid stuff will get you through the one after that. It should be a progression. Not getting probably the best scout rifle at level 26 and using that through. Especially since they're moving to a more traditional exp format. Why would you not want it to be viable? Lol

I haven't played the 3rd one, but in the first 2, yeah. The first one went to lvl 20. When Awakening came out, you pretty quickly replaced all your gear, because it was only lvl 20 gear, and you're now lvl 24, and lvl 20 gear won't cut it anymore. When dlc raises the level cap, it makes previous gear obsolete for endgame. If Destiny had kept the level cap at 30, and all new content was essentially the same level, that'd make sense. But why should a lvl 26 scout rifle be anywhere near as good as a lvl 40 one? That logically doesn't make any sense to me.So the Dragon Age DLC made your stuff from the base game useless? No? Destiny straddled the line between a halo like fps and a true rpg in year 1, and in year 2, they're clearly going harder down the rpg path with more questing, experience based leveling, and now leveled gear, where they only really did that stuff lvl 1-20 year 1. To me, more rpg elements is good. I'd probably like them to take it even farther, but maybe they will for Destiny 2.

Re: Destiny
Still, green weapons in TTK should not be stronger than the legendary weapons people have spent a year getting and using. Sorry, thats just silly and a bit insulting in my opinion. We're talking about greens. Bungie may as well wipe the slate clean and delete all year one guns from the game if they want to marginalize all that effort so easily. Seriously.Comment

Re: Destiny
I'm thinking they're putting higher level requirements on guns, rather than everything. So a lvl 40 green is better than year 1 guns, but a lvl 25 isn't. I'm speculating, but that'd make the most sense. Since all year 1 guns are currently lvl 20 (though maybe they'll increase them some), I kinda get that. Again, that's how loot works in most leveling games. A lvl 25 purple will out do a 28 green, but at some point green weapons start to outclass it a little bit. So, fatebringer has better perks, but a higher level green weapon has the higher attack but very lackluster perks.

Re: Destiny
All the gamescom footage were level 20, so presumably they didn't set up the game informer people with level 40 guys. That means the game informer guys, playing the first story mission, got a level 20 green. So all your bluster about some gun from a level 26, 30, 33, 34, 35 (ascended weapons would have to be 34 or 35 because of etheric light, no?) activity not being viable for year two, making those guns level 20 or lower makes sense to you?

Re: Destiny
I never said or lower. Right now, you have to be level 20 to use legendary weapons. They're pretty obviously reworking how attack works of it's going up to 60, as with the current system that would make it a level 60 gun, when there are only 40 lvls.
