Re: Destiny
After playing the Alpha and now the Beta....I'm still sold on the game, enjoyed the missions so far (I'm level 6)...but as I mentioned during the Alpha,I will not be touching the MP section of the game...just simply don't enjoy it.
I also didn't like Halo's mp,so I kind knew what what mp was going to be like.
I had also read reports that the level cap for the Beta was going to be 8 again, and imo that was pointless...I would've at LEAST expected being able to go to level 10 (if 20 is the highest in the full game) so we could try out some of the more higher gear...hopefully before all is said and done with the Beta Bungie will up the level...
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: Destiny
PVP seems alright, but I don't see myself spending a huge amount time with it. It's going to take something pretty special to really draw back into the competitive multiplayer aspect of shooters. I just don't like the modern blueprint everybody follows. Destiny multiplayer feels like it's trying to find a happy medium between Halo and Call of Duty, and so far, I'm not convinced the mechanics of those games mix very well.
Outside of PVP, I'm enjoying it more. The world itself is the biggest draw for me and I hope that world in the final game is filed with more variety and interesting missions. I've had my fill of needing to hack something for intel while holding off swarms of enemies.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Destiny
Wow, I'm kind of surprised at all the dislike for MP. Having said that tho it seems like most here (not all) prefer the single player experience in most game discussions.
Personally I play MP the majority of my gaming time. And the Alpha felt to me like classic Halo. I've been a massive Halo fan/player since Xbox dropped day 1 so that's definitely a good thing imo. Especially since I'm now on PS4. Haven't had a chance with the Beta but I'm really looking forward to itComment

Re: Destiny
When you get to level 5 someone in the tower will have a quest marker and will open the Crucible (that's the planetoid to the right of Earth on the map).Comment

Re: Destiny
Mine took under 2 hours. I did the install file from work. Came home and started the 11GB install. Switched to Insanity. Ate supper. Switched back and started up a character.
I wasn't even thinking about getting this, but this beta is going to force me to pre-order.

Re: Destiny
This beta has been pretty disastrous for my opinion of the game. I really enjoyed the alpha, it was short but I had fun. The beta isn't really all that much longer, but the extra missions are very bland. It all happening on one map, the same map from the alpha that was seemingly 100% explored after the limited alpha content was exhausted, probably didn't help. I don't know, the beta just feels shallow and disappointing. I had figured that I would be spending a solid week in the beta, but now I'm thinking I will get back to Divinity much earlier than that.Comment

Re: Destiny
It feels very much like classic Halo still. It's the same map from the Alpha and the same game. The biggest problem I have is how bad I am with the vehicles, but that's my own problem. Honestly, I like the coop modes and the random events a lot.Wow, I'm kind of surprised at all the dislike for MP. I normally spend most of my time in shooters in multiplayer, but this one seems like it will have a lot for both the story and the multiplayer, especially with all the focus on coop.St. Louis Blues
