I'm so heated right now. I bought 4 exotic engrams with strange coins I had left over from house of wolves. And I got 3 lord of wolves and 1 of the house of wolves side arms.. Why is this possible?! How am I supposed to get better if I'm buying useless exotics that can't be upgraded to an attack worth a dang.. Mannnn I can't believe I just wasted all my strange coins on that.

I wouldn't recommend doing the nightfall in hopes of better gear. Just run Court of Oryx and switch your gear to your highest light when decoding engrams. Don't decode everything at once. Do it 1 by 1 and if it's higher put it on then continue decoding checking every piece to make sure you're at your peak on every engram.

I wouldn't run strikes either TBH. You're trying to level up fast cuz if you get at least 300 you can get some ppl to carry you thru the warpriest by reset and get 320 stuff guaranteed. If you wanna go faster just do court of Oryx because everything else takes way longer. You should go from 260 to 280/290 within an hr or 2 vs strikes which 1 takes 25/35 depending on heroic vs regular.

The Nightfall can drop up to 310 stuff and doesn't take long to run. It's definetly worth the time early on. Running the strikes is also part of an early quest line that gets you legendaries, and doing the heroics for marks is important early on.

I know it just takes way longer. And I haven't gotten anything from the nightfall in like 3 weeks. Even when I was a lower level the things I got were not worth the time spent on some of the strikes. I've ran court of Oryx helping a friend and he went from 240 to 260 in like 30 min (same time a strike at a lower level takes) and he didn't even have any runes.

And there's only a couple quests that actually give you 300 weapons n armor but you can still get 300 from Court of Oryx. I just personally wouldn't do it after running court of Oryx.

I say do whatever is fun to you tho. Don't make it a grind because that's when it gets boring. All my characters max at 315 so I pretty much stick to PVP now. The PVP quest line bounties have rewarded me more than the nightfall ever has. 310 suros. Zhalo. Immolation fists. Ash factory with tripod n grenades n horeshoes lol. It's long but worth it imo.

I, too, gave up doing the Nightfall, but at this point my light is up over 300 so that's a good part of the reason why. I didn't start doing them until I was in the high 290s and I haven't gotten a single item worth the time input. For me the "opportunity cost" and the effort just isn't worth the possible outcomes. Even more relevant now that the "challenge modes" offer guaranteed 310 or 320 gear.

I'd say if you're in the 280-290 light area, then by all means do them. At that frame they are basically the last step before you are raid ready. I would recommend heroic strikes, though; with heroic strikes you get guaranteed legendary engrams plus 30 marks per week. That doesn't include all the other possible engrams and exotics if you use Three of Coins. Of course Three of Coins work everywhere you can kill an Ultra.

I also had some decent luck last night during the raid, pulling down 310 Qullim's (and a 306), 309 Silence of A'arn, 306 Titan boots, 310 Mark, 310 artifact (though already had one), and a 310 Zhalo Supercell from the exotic chest. Didn't finish Oryx but that's just about as good as I've ever done in this game, though completing the challenge was a big part of it. Just need a better chest piece and ghost and I'll be set.

I don't think the nightfall takes all that much time, tbh. Especially this weeks. I did 3 in a little over an hour, got a Baron's Ambition, a 298 Auto, 297 bond, and 20 strange coins. Not an amazing haul, but not bad at all for someone still leveling up.

Sparrow racing coming tuesday for three weeks. Some of the sparrows and stuff will only be eververse though.

Ps exclusive iron banner gear this month as well. Kinda like the ps exclusive Neuroghast/Azoth Bend sets im assuming.

Sparrow racing sounds awful, they control like **** and Destiny's physics is even worse. Combine that with it looking like just being a speed boost run and it's even worse. Always hated that "to the next speed boost" style of race, just awful.

Don't be a negative nancy. It's their first try at it. It could be awesome with some time and some devs who specialize in racing games.

Might give more people a reason to stick around because crucible PvP is only for masochists and sociopaths.
