Golgorath challenge has been completed by people. You get another 320 artifact and a 320 armor. The challenge is that all 6 players must hold the gaze during the damage phase. Essentially, you can do it legit by downing all 6 orbs, or you can do a modified 1 orb strat where you do damage on the 1st orb with 4 people dpsing and trade the gaze until all 6 have had it afterwards.

I personally enjoyed the rare OP weapons like Gally. Trying to get that was frustrating yet enjoyable. There really isn't any guns like that..that are just relied upon by RNG. I think it's fun to play Destiny while always having a chance to get that awesome rare exotic weapon that may just be a little OP.

As someone who had fairly poor RNG in Year 1, I appreciate the Three of Coins as a supplement to Xur. Having to wait every week for Xur to sell what you were looking for, only to be disappointed, was a pain. Relying on the randomness of the game wasn't an effective way to get exotics. Even now getting engrams isn't all that easy, there's still quite a bit of variance, though I acknowledge it is certainly easier than Y1. The quests that give exotics were also a nice addition.

I've gone through spurts of 15 and 18 coins before getting an engram. I get that people can "farm" the coins in a sense, even with the cooldown, but honestly people that play that much are going to have more exotics regardless. Playing as much as I do I typically get 1 engram every two weeks, and even getting an engram doesn't ensure I get something I want or need. For those that don't have as much time it reduces a bit of the grind, and a bit of the variance, and I appreciate that.

I brought in a pretty good haul from my first raid win. Got the scout rifle, sniper, shot gun, fusion, and ghost shell. I'm not used to getting so much from one raid lol.

Arrrrgh need Marks for the new/old exotics. I had enough for MIDA. strike farming again i guess.

Also, decrypting old engrams DOES drop the new exotics. confirmed over on Reddit. So if you have any from before the update, take a chance.

You're fine. As long as you never drop the gaze. I guess the more accurate way to say it is that you can't drop the gaze before the sixth person holds it, and no one can hold it twice per cycle.

I don't think making the game easier is the answer though. And you don't have to be a hardcore player or even farm. Each nightfall is 2 chances at a drop. The raid, using 3ofC, gives you at least 5! chances, more if Oryx takes multiple tries. Even without farming or doing anything else like dailies or heroics, that's 21 chances between chars. It's a like 3-5 exotics a week. And then there are the quest triggered ones on top of that. Having the best ones not be RNG, and be quest driven, would've been enough, but honestly it only took about a month to get all the rng exotics.

Glass needles, on the other hand, I love. It took forever, and literally probably 20 glass needles, but finally got Solar Armor on my Alchemist's Rainment (since I pretty much only wear it when I need Self Rez).

All you have to do is have all six have the gaze at some point. So you can:

1. Start fight
2. clear adds
3. number guys 1 to 6, with number six being your normal gaze holder (or 5 if you don't do one bubble strat)
4. #1 gets gaze
5. #2 immediately takes the gaze
6. #3 then immediately does the same
7. repeat to #6
8. pop another bubble and DPS
9. Everybody leaves pit
10. Continue fight using your usual strat (one bubble, etc)
11. Profit

Video proof (they do DPS before trading gaze through everybody, I feel like trading gaze would be easier to do first, on #5 pop bubble, #6 takes gaze and DPS, but it really doesn't matter)

Edit:correction, from Reddit:

Depending on the amount of damage you do in each orb, you will most likely do 2-3 damage rotations. Every player must hold the gaze during each damage phase unless Golgoroth dies in that damage phase.
Hope this clears it up for folks. Be reminded, this is currently considered the 'easiest' strategy, or the 'cheese' strategy.
Also, no it is not easier to pass the gaze around then do damage in each phase, because cursed thrall will spawn and overrun the team. Do damage on first gaze, then swap afterwards unless you wish to sacrifice a team member and have him be on add control vs. damaging Golgoroth.
Swapping the Gaze afterwards is very easy, you can take the gaze ASAP between all players.

Like they said, you should do damage first because of thrall. You could do damage last if everyone is shooting the thrall as they spawn. But I feel like doing damage at first is the best way to go.

Had engrams saved up and got Armamentarium and Hardlight right away. If anyone was wondering, Hardlight 2.0 is still trash.

If you get an exotic leg engram, don't decrypt it, they are decrypting to nothing.

It wasn't in the reveal, but The Ram also made the jump to year 2. So I know what I'm spending my marks on.

Also, you can get cosmetic stuff from the Nightfall. Someone one reddit got an emote, and I got a horn.

The racing is fun but it's very basic. They should put a twisted metal/Mario kart spin on it.

Had more fun in that mode today than I ever had in crucible though.

We did this challenge 3x tonight (so far) and we basically did two bubbles did damage for those, while sharing the gaze, after the second bubble we just passed the gaze to the remaining people. My streamer friend used 3 reg and 3 pugs to make it easier.
