Re: Destiny
Man this same thing shouldve been implemented in 6v6 as well. If it did i might actually come back. Nothing bothred me more then starting a match and theres 3-4 snipers posted up at a main sightline waiting for people to pop out. Or getting shotgun rushed. That change would make 6v6 so much more enjoyable.Comment

Re: Destiny
Not saying this game is perfect by any means (and I'm not speaking about any of you when I say this) but this game has one of the most toxic gaming communities I've ever seen.

Re: Destiny
It's been brought on by their actions and policies. Since its inception things have been scaled back, removed or deleted. They have shown a propensity to fix issues that made the grind easier while leaving crippling bugs and glitches. They have outright lied to the community, hidden things, botched an entire (much hyped) weapons patch and now essentially left the PVE community in a lurch. It's been 6 months (in 5 days) since TTK. People just want to know if there is any hope for PVE guys.
There is a toxic side to the community but bungie's actions have done a lot to feed those individuals.

Destiny
Bungie brought this on themselves. Trying to take the adhd nature of fps genre and mix it with the methodical long term investment of an mmo was a risk from the onset. They've succeeded and failed plenty. The toxicity you see it the fallout of their failures. The model they are working with is a failure. They don't have the staff necessary to blend the two concepts. That much has been clear from jump street. Simply not enough man power or funding and not strong enough direction at this point to make everyone happy in Destiny land.
For comparison, CoD has three entire studios working a three year rotation to pump out a cod game yearly. And that's a game focused mostly on PvP. Game maps. A linear campaign. And more game maps. A community that is satisfied running around the same 15 maps shooting each other all day long. (No disrespect to cod fans, blops 3 is fun)
Compare that to bungie, one studio. Tasked with making robust PvE content, PvP content, asked to release major dlc every 4-6 months by its insatiable community while working on future destiny titles while working on live events to be released according to holidays while working on weapons balances, economy balances, leveling balances, skills balances etc etc etc.
All of this is compounded by their puzzling lack of communication with its community. That breeds contempt in the community. Leaving them in complete darkness gets you the current destiny community. But it's obvious that community cares and is invested. Otherwise destiny would simply die off like Titanfall. We aren't there yet.
With all that said, I still like their game. And I hope it stays a success and develops a more streamlined method of content creation.Last edited by kingkilla56; 02-10-2016, 01:32 PM.Comment

Re: Destiny
Bungie finally released some details about its content plans going forward (after Activision earnings call):
- Spring update that increases the light level, adds challenges, new gear, and replayability (PVE content).
- Fall expansion - unknown size and if this is free or paid DLC.
- Destiny II scheduled for 2017 (I would speculate Q4).
Nice to finally have some news. Seems like the spring will consist of largely updating older content. Not sure how much will actually be "new." May not be worth coming back for.
Fall expansion is a wild card; could be Crota-sized, could be TTK sized (wouldn't bet on the latter). Then it could be another year or more before the sequel, though too soon to know so that's just speculation. Certainly better for them to take their time with the sequel and fix what was wrong with the original.Comment

I wonder how soon "Spring update" means. We're like not that long from spring.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Destiny
Was actually listening to the call and I don't want to damper anyone's excitement but the ums and ugh have me worries about this spring expansion. Sounds like it was added very late in the prep for the presentation.
