Must say I like the feel of the Xbox One controller for this game a lot more than the PS4 controller. Still not sure if I would get this or not but if I do it will probably be for the X1.

Re: Destiny
So ever since I heard this was the "next big thing" I have tried to stay away as much as possible as I do for games I think I am going to get into as to not have too much spoiled for me beforehand. I decided to pre-order the guardian edition today and hopped in the beta for a couple hours. Really liked what I saw. I see this and M15 eating a lot of my free time this Fall."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Destiny
Enjoying my time with the beta so far. Just really confused as to what's actually going on. I'm not sure how to get into multiplayer matches, I just end up on some missions. Not sure whats really going on with the whole tower thing, and buying stuff etc. etc. Confused at times why there's other players running around in my game. lol I probably should have done some more research into this game.
Really enjoy playing it when I get into some firefights etc. I think it looks great, and I think I'm going to have a great time playing it once I can find my way around it.
Im up against some wizard thing right now that's just handing my you know what to me repeatedly lol Lots of fun though.
Any tips for navigating my way around this beta and the different modes?Last edited by brandon27; 07-23-2014, 06:50 PM.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment

Re: Destiny
To play multi-player, you have to first be in orbit, and then choose to travel to "The Crucible" on the map screen (it is the small planet to the right of Earth). Of course you have to be level 6 first and then talk to someone in The Tower, which is basically the home base for all guardians.Enjoying my time with the beta so far. I think The Tower is capped at 12 people or so, so whenever you go there, you'll be surrounded by a bunch of random people (or whoever is in your fireteam). When you go to Earth to do missions or explore, on occasion you'll see other players around. Generally they don't really matter. Unless they are in your fireteam, they'll disappear when you go into an "instance" (which is a part of a mission that exists specifically for you and your individual fireteam).
There is a level 6 Strike mission that will involve yourself and two other players, perhaps randoms, where the three of you have to, more or less, kill a bunch of stuff in a linear order. That is selected when you are in orbit and selecting a place to go on Earth.Comment

Re: Destiny
Does anyone know if other people can see your missions?
What I mean is, if I go underground into some area to do a mission and someone follows me, do they see the enemies I see? Will I look crazy shooting at things?
If they do, how does this affect difficulty? If they went in for hard but I did normal, how do the enemies balance if we are shooting at them together?

Re: Destiny
So basically everyone is doing their own thing on the map but sees the same things. The only time it's different is when it pops up saying respawns restricted then you are in your own instance where only your fireteam is with you.Does anyone know if other people can see your missions?

Re: Destiny
Right. Free roam enemies are all set level. The normal/hard difficulty sets in after the respawn warning in which case only people on your fire team will enter the instance.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

I don't like the PS4 controller either. Much prefer the xbox controller.

Re: Destiny
I've got the best of both worlds. My PS4 controller has the XB1 analog sticks.
Outside of the default analogs, the PS4 controller is way more comfortable to me.Comment
