After watching a few gameplay walkthroughs of the Destiny Beta on youtube, im interested in the game but I have a few questions -

1) Is there a single player campaign and if so, how long is it?

2) I read that there are "random events" that happen which includes other players. Is this accurate? And can these be avoided/ignored so I can continue playing the single player campaign?

3) For the single player campaign, are there any side quests, collectibles, etc.?

4) I noticed that while shooting, the perspective is in first person yet on that motorcycle type vehicle and at the home base, the perspective was in third person. Is there an option to make the entire game in third person (ala Skyrim)?

5) I noticed that you acquire a space ship early in the beta and wanted to know if there's space battles (ala No Man's Sky)?

In general, I know that the game is "always online" and that PlayStation Plus is required so no questions about any of that.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Technically there isn't any single player. You can play the game on your own, but there will be other people in the world you are in. I believe you can play through pretty much the whole story on your own except the strike missions.

You can ignore any of these you want. They are voluntary. There are rewards though for participating.

3) For the single player campaign, are there any side quests, collectibles, etc.?

You get rewards at the end of every mission as well as during. The enemies will drop engrams that you can use to make decent gear.

4) I noticed that while shooting, the perspective is in first person yet on that motorcycle type vehicle and at the home base, the perspective was in third person. Is there an option to make the entire game in third person (ala Skyrim)?

Any combat is first person during the story missions. When you are at the tower or on your vehicle it's third persn.

Can't answer this one based off the beta.

I was in explore mode on Forgotten Shores when on the bottom of my screen, it said a roving pack of pikes incoming. I was able to steal one and drive around shooting enemies for a while.

Did you all know about the Raid mode? Apparently after you beat the campaign there are extremely tough strike missions you take on with 5 other people.

The stories are crazy. 1 hour just to get through an opening sequence. Most extreme case was a group that did a legendary raid for 14 HOURS and failed in the end. This excites me. Replay value could be pretty high for Destiny.

RE: #5, space battles. Doesn't look to me like there are, all the ships they show they don't show any weaponry stats, so ship battles are unlikely. Best I can tell from the beta, space ship changes are purely cosmetic.

So I download the Beta on 360 today after finally seeing it. Made a Warlock and they are very good. Played a few games of games of the Control but could not finish the first 2 games. Got kicked out randomly for no reason. But from what I played, the game seem real balance if the person is mot that high of a level than you. I am only level 5 but was doing great and stayed in the top 3 people on my team even though they were mostly 8. Also my gear was trash but I still did good one on one. This made me think if they nerf high level players gear and increase low level player gear to be more balance.

My only complaints are that I'm question the story of the game. The man that speaks for the traveler said that we are not gonna survive the Darkness but want you to fight ti push it back. To me, it does not make sense at all wince everyone is gonna die from the darkness, so why try to prolong your death. I would of prefer something else instead of just fighting to stay alive a bit longer. Maybe it because it to early and we don't have the full game story at our disposal.

The other one is that I think I ran into a glitch in Control. I was shooting this player point blank but my bullets barely damaged him, then I melee him and he lost his shield. Then when I went back to shooting him he took no damage from it. I was so confused because I put 2 clips into the guy and no kill.

Destiny may be the only game I buy for 360 until I get the PS4 or a PC.

Played the beta last night. Was pretty fun. Like I expected it reminds me of borderlands. Still think I will be purchasing the borderlands prequel instead of this though. Just don't have time for both.
