Sure. My question really though is what is Bungie doing to make this "the Halo of next-generation," even if it's nothing more than bringing PlayStation customers to them?

I mean they revealed this at E3 last year, and they have been out of the woodwork for a little bit (plus this alpha and beta), which lends me to believe this is as "must own" as any FPS out there. Is that so, or is this really just an okay title?

From my perspective it is a must own. I had zero interest in this title but i saw the beta was free the other day and decided to give it a shot. After playing it, I can say it is an IP that has the potential to surpass what they did with the halo franchise.

It all comes down to the environment. What sets this game apart for me is the fact that there is a lot to do and you can choose to do it alone or team up with the people around you. Nothing feels forced. Gameplay flows nicely and you can tell the attention to detail this team has with environments and what goes where. Only scratching the surface of the game, I found multiple hidden areas that didn't seem like a chore to explore. In fact it is one of the only games I felt excited to do a side mission in.

IMO this type of world and environment that is already populated with your friends is what all next gen titles will eventually become.

My only concern with the game is the server load at launch. Even limited players at the beta launch didn't go over so well; my hope is they paid attention and will do something to ease the entry come launch day.

To be honest I'm a little nervous about it because I'm getting it for the story. The multiplayer IMO was built for Esports. I can't blame Bungie there. Those are the people that will keep the game alive for years and years up to the next release. Honestly, that's what had me leaning towards NOT getting it though. I'm a multiplayer first, but can get into single player if the story is top notch. The multiplayer was not my cup of tea. So I'm still a little nervous about purchasing it. I had some fun with the co-op aspects of it though. The game basically offers something for everyone. I'm taking a shot in the dark that the story is going to be good.

It didn't? Through the alpha and beta, I didn't have one problem logging in to play.

Ever online game has server issues at launch or in beta whether it's an MMO or something like COD

From what I played this game is pretty much borderlands with pvp modes thrown in. The only thing is borderlands seemed more put together to me. The guns are much better and from what I saw so are the characters and storyline. I realize it is only the beta but I can only judge what I played. For these reasons I'm probably going with borderlands sequel prequel for 360 nothing really against destiny I just don't have time for two games that are so similar.

I'm not interested in pvp. If I want to do that type of thing I have other games I can play. I tried a match real quick and it was pretty much just people double jumping around everywhere. I'm all set with that. .

I hated Borderlands. Love this though. I get the comparison but I disagree that this is Borderlands pretty much with PVP.

Where are the differences? Loot chests, weapons tiers sorted by color. Hell you meet your version of clap trap a minute into the beta. Same type of missions. Same type of base with allies scattered throughout it to buy upgrades off of. It's very similar.

Played both alpha and beta and absolutely love this game. Yes it has some halo in it, but is that a bad thing? The only question I have is is Bungie gonna let beta players keep there stuff and characters? Bungie has said they were thinking about this and weren't sure if they would or could. I personally hope not, make it a level playing field for those who didn't play the beta. I maxed out a hunter and warlock and a lvl 5 Titan, hopefully there will be more character customization in the final.

Does anyone know what changes bungie can make to the game in the future? Can they add missions, random events, add different enemies, edit environments, etc?
