Looking at that comparison, there are maybe a half a percent of computers that could produce that image and run it at 30fps.

I guess the early 10/10 reviews and quotes like "Its the best RPG ever made" doesnt mean anything.

lol, hyperbolic rationalizations don't change that there's a really big difference between those images. It's unfortunate they're not delivering what they've been selling to us for so long, thankfully it looks like it's a pretty good game otherwise.

Even if that were true, would that be wrong or something? I would rather they develop for that "half a percent" and scale down like they did for Witcher 2, as opposed to developing for the weakest parts like they did this time around.

There's nothing wrong with wanting something to be the best it can be and being disappointed when it isn't.

Absolutely right, it means nothing to me, especially these days. I can and do form my own opinions.

I think the thing that stands out the most to me is the change in tone/color palette from the original reveals till now. I'd say I prefer the old look.

So you rather have a game that looks great like Ryse or The Order but has ****ty story and game play like Ryse or The Order?

Yeah most definitely. The colors look so saturated now, almost cartoony in comparison. A good SweetFX preset can solve that though.

Won't there be retexture mods available eventually that will get it to where it was?

Really depends on if it's just textures. If the models themselves are all less complex the game will never look like it was earlier advertised.

The downgrade doesn't bother me as long as the game is fun, the game still looks pretty good.

Everyone jumped all over Watch Dogs last year, but the thing about Watch Dogs was in addition to the graphics downgrade it was also a bad, boring game with an insufferable main character.

I'm sure the guys have to walk a fine line about showing optimized graphics for a game still in development to a community that is eager for "the greatest graphics ever" and then cannibalizes itself when the game doesn't deliver to promises and expectations.

I actually like the change in tone in the graphics. It appears to be a much more interesting fantasy world than Skyrim ended up being. Not to mention each shot and moment in the gameplay videos looks like some type of painting and picture out of a medieval, fantasy novel.

PCs have customized graphics options. There's a huge downgrade in Textures Quality and Lighting and their marketing was misleading. As a consumer/customer (use any term you like) I don't want to be treated this way.
And again: The gameplay most probably will be phenomenal.
