Don't start something. I'm a huge basketball fan, NBA Live is the best basketball game there is. SOCOM II is an average military-based tactical squad based shooter. There's so much out there that I would never spend $50 on it. I find Rouge Spear to be a better game.

If you're questioning my opinion based on the assumption that I think Live is a great game, you're wrong. Live is a great basketball game. Go get a life now.

Actually the best basketball game out there is probably ESPN College Hoops.

All I'm saying is, along with many others on here, Socom II is a great game, single player and online. When the thread starter is choosing between two games, you don't think he is slightly interested in the two choses? You could of given more of a useful opinion than "Both Suck". If you were actually trying to give him wisdom on which to choose, maybe you could of helped him out a little more.

Seriously though, purchase Socom II. If you are into military-tactical games, you will love it. I was never really into that genre of games until I played Socom II. And with the online adapter, it has easily made its way into my rotation with Madden for online play.

    Hope that helps.

$50 is big money to me, I dunno about you or the topic starter, but I still think both these games can be passed on.

Regarding ESPN College Hoops, I really don't like the ESPN basketball games this year. I have NBA 2k,2k1,2k2,2k3,and this years version. The VC brand sports games (some football, majority basketball) are treasured by me every year, so I'm pretty dissapointed.

Being critical, Socom II is "Ghost Recon for dummies".

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I agree that NBA 2k4 was a big let down, but ESPN College Hoops is a great game.

Socom II is Ghost Recon for dummies? Hmm... I can see what you mean, but Socom II is the biggest online game these days for Ps2, for a reason.

I talking about Ghost Recon for the PC, btw.

The Legacy (franchise) mode, is great. In game cut scenes, tv-style presentation, and just the whole college environment.

Plus it has Air Hockey in the Student Lounge!

they're made by two different developers, so CH isn't the NBA game with college rosters or anything like that...I'm a terrible person to ask for a comparison like that on basketball games, but check out the CH forum, people who know more about them can help you out. Getting back on topic, I'd pick up SOCOM. I've logged over 12+ hours into the game in a week. I haven't even touched the single player.
