I hope you are right as I am on PS4, but I have read that the PS4 is a mess too. Are you on PS4? Are you experiencing any frame rate issues at all?

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
It's not. It's on PS4 as well. Look at the first thread on the PS4 reddit - http://www.reddit.com/r/PS4/ ("The framerate in ACU is f'n terrible")The technical issues seem to be on Xbox One as PS4 doesn't appear to have the frame rate issues.
With or without the patch, Unity seems to run better on PS4. It's funny, the game was "evened out" on both PS4 and Xbox One yet it's still better on PS4. LOL.
I have also noticed that the reviews are from the Xbox One version of the game which is why the game is getting lower than expected scores.
PC players are reporting massive issues as well - framerate problems, poor texture quality, texture pop-in, and screen tearing. - https://twitter.com/Totalbiscuit/sta...95117378318336
There's a reason why reviewers weren't allowed to post their reviews until 12pm today.Last edited by sbauer318; 11-11-2014, 12:48 PM.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Playing on PS4. Honestly, im not one to notice frame rate problems as it's not important to me. I did notice pop-in with NPC's while running in the opening sequence though. Only played two memories. In my list a few posts above, I far bigger concerns than frame rates. Either way, im playing Rogue first, then Unity so it's going to be a while before I start playing Unity.
Wasn't expecting perfect scores but to me, Unity getting a 5/10 from Joystiq and a 6.5 from Polygon seems to low. I have played some average games last gen but I have never reviewed any game lower than a 7 and every game I review, I have finished and in most cases, completed 100%.
To me, games that score less than a 7/10 is just a waste of time playing for various reasons. Despite my complaints posted above, I would be very surprised if I was to review Unity lower than a 7/10 as I do want to play the game. Unity would have to be really bad for me not to want to play it. In the last five years, there's only been two games that I stopped playing and had no interest in finishing - Shadows of the Damned and Remember Me. I don't see Unity falling into that category and would be shocked if it does.
With that said though, im far more hyped to play Rogue than Unity but at the same time, I love the naval battles.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
I just chased a guy down through a super crowded street and didn't notice any frame rate issues. On XB1.

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
It seems that unless it's really bad, that gamers are simply looking for every frame rate problem just to bash the game. Shame that this generation of gaming is turning into nothing more than frame rates and resolution. Oh well, to each his/her own I guess.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Frame rate issues are more important than resolution IMO. I had one issue during the 40 hours I played Shadow of Mordor. The frame rate drops made that game unplayable for the one hour it was occurring.Comment

Heedless low reviews and bashing is the same as giving a game a 7+ favorable review just because you want to like and play the game. Except frame rate isn't an opinion, it's quantifiable.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Frame rate being a major problem is only if it makes the game completely unplayable and even then, a simple re-loading will more times than not solve the problem as the majority of times, frame rate problems are random and are different for everyone as they don't happen at exactly the same time or place in the game.
Frame rate shouldn't be a major review factor in my opinion. To me, gamers are way too picky about all the visual stuff. I played The Evil Within on 480p in order to eliminate the black bars and play full screen so to be perfectly honest, all the visual complaints need to stop because there's far more important aspects to a game than the frame rate and/or resolution.
I only played two memories in Unity and listed my own personal complaints above and frame rate wasn't one of them. I just think that gamers are way too picky and like to complain about frame rates and resolution just to have something to complain about. Those gamers should quit gaming in my opinion because in the end, those people care more about all the visual stuff as opposed to everything else in the game but whatever, if I don't end up enjoying Unity, it sure as hell won't be due to the so called frame rate issues.
In the end though, to each his/her own.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
I agree with this. Of course I want awesome visuals, framrate, etc, but it's not my #1 priority these days. Games look great as is, but I want the gameplay and fun factor over the look of the game.Frame rate being a major problem is only if it makes the game completely unplayable and even then, a simple re-loading will more times than not solve the problem as the majority of times, frame rate problems are random and are different for everyone as they don't happen at exactly the same time or place in the game.
