The story has been awesome so far, and the side stuff very good and entertaining. But by all means OS bros, let Kotaku form your opinion and call this game rubbish. Well played.
Totally disagree. OS is one of the most level headed places on the Internet from my experience. Go read the Far Cry and Dragon Age threads. Nothing but praises because they're actually good games. We do more here then just complain and regurgitate negative reviews.

Kotaku isn't forming everybody's opinion. Even Ubi is admitting it's broken and trying to appease the masses by giving away free games yet people here want defend it and say everything is great. That's comical. Keep those blinders on AC fan bros.

Totally disagree my man, surprise, right? Have you been to the Madden forums? It's a complain fest every year despite the fact that this years game is actually worth playing. This place regurgitates a lot, let's not pretend it's the greatest and most level headed around. It's certainly not IGN, but it has it's moments for sure.

You don't need AC blinders to see it's still a great game despite it's issues which need to be fixed. I haven't played since the patch, so I can't say whether or not it alleviated most the issues.

Who's saying everything is great (ie, no issues, etc) by the way? I've said multiple times, the issues need to be fixed, but the game is still AC great, as usual. Sorry you hate it big guy.

        Assasins Creed Unity

Not sure why mentioning a games flaws is a big deal. Some people hold franchises to a higher standard. Especially ones that have been around forever. "Actually worth playing" doesn't cut it for everyone and it's understandable. But it does cut it for a lot of people and that's the reason numerous games hardly even work at launch now.

It's not a big deal. But there has been a lot of negativity towards Unity, some justified (technical issues) some not (story not good enough, map too clogged).

The negativity towards the technical side is worth the flack it receives, even though Ubi is doing a good job conversing with the community and fixing what needs fixing.

The negativity surrounding the story and map is not IMO. It's more a subjective negativity. If you don't like the story and side missions fine, but I think they've done a good job with that. The negativity towards the map having too much going on is pretty laughable tho, seeing as you can easily filter whatever you don't want to see out. That's just a lazy knock on the game really.

So everybody needs to shut up unless they agree with you? If somebody has an issue with a game, something you admit is subjective, that's their prerogative. Who are you to tell them they are wrong? And babies? Only person being a baby are people trying to dismiss someone else's opinion because it doesn't jibe with your own. Just because you like something and someone else does not, doesn't mean you have to white knight and be pissy and dismissive.

Assassin's Creed has been one of my favorite series, and to see it fall so low is heartbreaking, to see it become something that I can't stand to play (slog through) even further breaks my heart.

              No. Not really even close.
If somebody has an issue with a game, something you admit is subjective, that's their prerogative. Who are you to tell them they are wrong?
You're right, and I apologize if that's how it came across. Not my intention. My point was the negative opinions seemed unfair, IMO.
And babies? Only person being a baby are people trying to dismiss someone else's opinion because it doesn't jibe with your own. Just because you like something and someone else does not, doesn't mean you have to white knight and be pissy and dismissive.
Not dismissive, just don't agree. It's a forum, opinions are what make a forum. I didn't agree just like you don't agree right now. And yes, there are many people who complain a lot (Maybe not as much in this thread) and thus to me seem like babies around here. Mostly, I see these type of posts in the sports related forums though.

Assassin's Creed has been one of my favorite series, and to see it fall so low is heartbreaking, to see it become something that I can't stand to play (slog through) even further breaks my heart.
And it's my opinion that it really hasn't fallen as far as people say it has. That's why I think some of the negativity is head scratching to me. This game isn't even close to being as bad as people make it out to be. Quite the opposite.

Spoke with my money. I even considered Rogue but don't want to buy it at full price.

Too bad they blew it for me. Maybe next time and in a better time period as well.

Better time period? People have been clamoring for the French Revolution for years! It's probably the richest time in history ever aside from maybe the Crusades.

I i'm going to be purchasing unity and was wondering if black flag is a good game to get as well for xbox one since its hella cheap. if you played both whats the difference besides story.

how would you rate each game.

Black Flag is my favorite in the series. I enjoyed the Naval aspect of it. But heads up, you aren't really an assassin in that one. You are a pirate. Gameplay wise, you don't really have to be very sneaky in that one. You can pretty much run into any fight, guns blazing. Unity is much more strategic, if that's your cup of tea.

Yep somewhere other than France. Sorry but it's no draw to me here in this game. Not the history itself but here its not.

If you played a previous AC and liked the ship sailing in those games, you'll like Black Flag. If you didn't, beware, cause a majority of the time you're sailing and doing ship battles.

I liked Black Flag, but I'm surprised so many liked it so much, as it was further away from what AC really is as opposed to what Unity, or really any other previous AC was.

Yup, that's why I skipped black flag...I love the AC series but hated the sequences as Connor when you were on the ship. Completely turned me away from black flag

Loved Black Flag. It was Kenway on the ship not Connor. Connor was in 3 and it wasnt very well liked.

People loved the idea of being a pirate thats why they liked it. Plenty of islands to explore, the carribean, and plenty of fights to get into as well as stealth missions and hunting, etc...

Black Flag is probably one of the more popular of the series next to 2.

I think he meant Conner in AC3 is what led him to not get BF since BF was centered around ships.

BF wasn't my favorite, but it was pretty solid. I didn't care for it at first, but it really grew on me and the Caribbean was actually really fun to explore.
