Your game installation (basic files) are local.
ALL character data is server-side. They did it that way from the start (in the entire MMORPG era) to prevent client-side hacking.
Unlike most games, in MMORPG's, if you hack, you get banned. Almost all companies with a MMORPG out go to extreme lengths to make sure everybody is playing "fair".Comment
