I agree for the most part about the maps in the last few CoD's.
Too big and too over complicated. Maps like Vacant, Crash, Backlot, District, Chinatown, etc were good maps because they were simple. They didn't have multiple elevation changes, didn't have buildings and windows as far as the eye could see, and they didn't have seemingly endless routes.
I remember reading or hearing something about Sledgehammer wanted to have Advanced Warfare be and do to the CoD series what Call of Duty 4 did to the series back in 2007. I REALLY want that addiction factor to come back. Call of Duty 4 was probably the most addicted I've ever been to an FPS. I loved World at War and Black Ops 1 but there was something about Call of Duty 4 that always made me think "Just one more game before bed" only to play 5 more after thinking that.
If they can get back to basics and not going over the top crazy MP wise, I think we could be in for a real treat. But in all honesty I don't see Advanced Warfare being the new Call of Duty 4, nor do I ever see a CoD game capturing the glory that Call of Duty 4 had.
