Wait for a sale for single player. Multi-player is a bore. Overwatch just destroys it in fun factor

With GCU and the new Prime, especially GCU with the $10 rewards pre-order bonus, there is always a sale.

Beat Uncharted last night and have this preloaded and ready to go. Cannot wait. A 15ish HR campaign in a FPS shooter is well worth full asking price. They could just as soon have left MP out completely for all I care, ala Wolfenstein (which is the best FPS this gen IMO).

Only got to play for about 45 minutes... Need to get to bed. So far though, it's exactly what I expected; extremely fast paced, over-the-top violent, and a badass soundtrack. This is a throwback twitch shooter through and through and damn if it isn't fun.

Initial consensus - I love it.


PS: It looks great and runs smooth as butter on PS4.

There is some really brilliant yet still simple strategy implemented with the gameplay here. Aside from the upgrades to suit, weapons, etc., the devs have done a wonderful job of making you think on your feet amidst all of the mayhem.

For example, the chainsaw is an automatic kill. However, it's powered by a finite amount of fuel. Different enemy types require varying amounts of fuel, so if you don't have enough, you may not be able to use it. Along with that, you have to be smart about WHEN to use it to. Along with being an instant kill, the enemy downed by said chainsaw will drop enough ammo to almost completely refill every gun in your arsenal.

So, in the middle of any given fight, you'll typically have all of the following at your disposal:

1. Glory Kills which grant health but require you to be up close to perform.

2. Chainsaw Kills which grant ammo but will use up fuel.

3. Secondary functions for all weapons which will create a more devastating effect but in most cases use up extra ammo.

4. Environmental items items scattered about (health, armor, ammo) that include Rage which basically makes you go berserk and fist punch everything to death.


It's absolutely insane, gory, twitchy, smart, calculated chaos.

Seeing all the great impressions means I'm definitely picking this up. Have so much other stuff to play though that it'll probably have to wait a few weeks or until the Summer sale.

I do want to do a PC upgrade too, so maybe it'll wait until I get a 1070 since I'm not sure how great it will run on a 770.

Doom 3 on the XBOX was one of my all time fav sci-fi horror shooters.

This is on my christmas list.
