I agree MK4 was an abomination, but MKA was not bad and it looks like MK is gonna take everything that was good about DA and throw in everything but the kitchen sink and have XBL online mode. So no I don't want it to die.

Games that do need to die though. Tomb Raider definately.

Mario can just as well die if they can't make a 2D playing game on a REAL console instead of a handheld. I haven't played a great Mario game on a console since Mario 3 and Mario World. It just isn't the same in 3D.

*I think that the Mario Series is the saving grace for Nintendo. Without Mario that company would be pretty much dead to the world. I think that the Mario Brothers games back in the 80s and early 90s were great but as someone said they don't translate well to 3D. I really wish that Nintendo would release a 2D platformer with some inoovation to it or if they wanna stick to the 3D then do something like Mario in a GTA like enviroment. MARIO SUNSHINE kinda tried something like that but to me it didn't quite work.

I seen some franchises here that I strongly and respectfully disagree with. The biggest ones were "Final Fantasy" and GTA. Now I ask, how do you make up the decision which franchise or title has run its course and ready to be packed away with. What are the factors that help you make the choice? To me it's how much it grossed. If the latest game sold out very well, obviously people still like it and enjoy it to this day. Aren't you amazed how many people anticipate the new GTA game and how much hype the newest FFXI got.

Nintendo has Donkey Kong, Zelda, Metroid... Dead to the world? I think not. Obviously not nearly as great as they are though.

Super Mario 64 was an excellent translation to 3D and innovated the way programmers create animated control systems for 3D games. That game was a breakthrough in some respects.

Yeah I was a little harsh there but I don't know if the videogame world would've gotten out of "The crash of '84" if it wasn't for Mario or at the very least the industry would be very much a niche rather than the publicly accepted and huge money making proposition it is today.
