I’m pumped for Tuesday. From what I heard, if you buy the standard edition all the planes and airports that come with the more expensive pre order editions will be available to buy from the marketplace. So if there’s maybe only a few planes you’re interested in throughout all the different pre order editions, you may be better off just getting the standard and then buying those planes separately. Really depends on how many of those planes you want.

Anyone that has pre ordered this on series x, have you been able to pre down load the game. I have not seen it available so far on my end.Currently playing: (In order of Most Time)

Re: Any Microsoft Flight Simulator Fans Here?
I was able to pre-install the game pass version. It was a pretty small download though, only 30GB. As big as 2020 was, find it hard to believe 24 is that much smaller. Guessing it's all downloaded in game.Comment

Re: Any Microsoft Flight Simulator Fans Here?
I’m off work Tuesday as well. Can’t wait to start up the career mode in my hometown airport.
I got a Xbox late into 2020’s cycle and when they announced 2024 with their official trailer I couldn’t get back into 2020 knowing 24 was an automatic preorder.NFL - Las Vegas Raiders

Re: Any Microsoft Flight Simulator Fans Here?
Haven't started yet, but still excited today. Definitely want to earn a helicopter's pilot license, and help fight the fires here in the Northeast.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which launches today, has a progression system like that built in. There are 26 different career paths, from cropdusting to aerial firefighting to VIP charter flights. Those careers give you a chance to earn money and progress through multiple missions, to the point where you can create your own company and become your own boss.

I'm just in shock how a company can sell a product which is not working at all. It doesn't matter if it's a fridge, an oven, a car or a videogame. Wow.Comment

Re: Any Microsoft Flight Simulator Fans Here?
As it stands we'll be lucky if the game is somewhat operational until Christmas. This is hands down the worse launch of a videogame ever and if MS doesn't come with some magic to fix it by tomorrow they're facing hundreds of thousands of refunds and lawsuits. It's unacceptable to sell a product with a cost ranging from £70-£220 and this product being completely defective and not working. At least when CP2077 was released we were able to launch the game.

You mean the same thing that happened with the 2020 release? Not surprising since its also an Ultimate Game Pass access. I'm waiting since I learned my lesson last time. Just an FYI, let it keep buffering. It will eventually load. Everybody wants to play

Re: Any Microsoft Flight Simulator Fans Here?
2020 release was a masterclass compared to this fiasco. I'm also not convinced "everybody wants to play". Who is everybody? A flight sim it's a niche release, peak on launch on Steam today it was like 16k and if you want I can x10 that number including GPU and XBOX in general. Do you think COD teenagers are trying to play flight simulator? I very much doubt it unless they're doing it in purpose to nuke the servers. So in that case I would like Asobo and MS to provide us with the numbers because it might be around 1.5M of them trying to get into the game resulting to a complete halt and crash of the servers. I'm quite certain Azure can't handle this kind of numbers at once especially when almost everything must be streamed simultaneously.Comment

We are aware of user reports of long initial loading times into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. With so many users initializing the sim concurrently, we have a large number of server requests. We are working to help resolve the issues as soon as possible. For users whose initial load is past 90% and no longer progressing, we recommend a reboot. Otherwise we advise waiting to allow the loading to proceed as normal.

Re: Any Microsoft Flight Simulator Fans Here?
Steam's poor numbers are likely the result of all the people who can't currently access it. The previous version's peak was nearly 3x more than the current peak for this this 2024 version of 25k, and I doubt that the game has lost 2/3 of it's fan base. That game's peak of nearly 70k on Steam isn't super far behind the peak of the recently released Dragon Age Veilguard, especially when you consider all the people who are accessing it via gamepass.
This launch isn't great, in fact it's bad. I have seen far worse launches just in recent memory though. Payday 3 immediately comes to mind. Forget 25k, I'm not sure that 25 people total were able to access that game at launch
Hoping they can do something to increase their server capacity soon. Game is even more interesting than the previous one thanks to having a structured career mode.Comment

I’ve had little to no problems getting on and playing for hours today on Xbox series x. Game menus are light years ahead of 2020. Everything is very fluid, responsive, and quick. No more lag or frame drops on the game map as well.
The game itself has very similar performance from what I can tell to 2020 on the X. The graphics are noticeably better on 2024 and a few times I caught myself forgetting I was playing a video game. The trees in particular are absolutely incredible.
One thing I noticed right away is that it is much harder to get even the smaller planes to stop quickly when landing. You really have to consider the length of your runway and where you’re landing on it, no more stopping on a dime.
The career is way more involved and detailed than what I imagined when they explained what it would entail a few months back. I won’t spoil it for people but I think people are going to be very pleased with it.
The only major down side I’ve found so far is with the third party aircraft’s. So far there aren’t really any available. I’m sure they will come soon because they really are the best part of the game in some ways.Last edited by tc020791; 11-19-2024, 09:16 PM.Comment

Re: Any Microsoft Flight Simulator Fans Here?
For me I was able to download at 8 am on my series X. I have decent internet speed and the initial download maybe took 30 minutes. I didn’t know all my city updates from 2020 would transfer and download automatically which was a nice surprise.
I was able to complete the first mission in career mode. I was disappointed in the graphics and how slow career mode ran. I waited at least 9-10 minutes just to transition to the next screen. Then it crashed..
Since then I haven’t been able to play at all. Get stuck in the queue every time.NFL - Las Vegas Raiders
