Re: 2020 Gaming Plans
Add me to this crowd as well. My one yearly purchase has always been The Show, which was also why I owned a Playstation to begin with. Now I have started a Franchise with Bacon's Fictional Rosters and have never loved a game more than '20 because of it. So with now only playing with fictional rosters I really have no need to upgrade games, until the features I play are upgraded to a point that I WANT to upgrade.
Then add in WatchDogs, Valhalla and Cyberpunk into the end of the year? Man, I'll be good until the end of summer next year. Not mention just because the new console is out doesn't mean that games just stop coming out for "last" gen. I think with shortages, COVID, unemployment an such we will see a longer transition from one gen to the next. Also I think Development wise that it is not as hard to develop for both as it has been in the past. It seems that not much is changing at the core beside Power and Graphics, we are seeing a lot more "cross-gen" tittles that before and I see no reason for that trend to stop soonIn Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

To add to this cross gen stuff lasted well into 2015 with PS4 despite releasing in 2013. I expect the same if not a bit longer this time around. Days Gone 2 is the game I am waiting for on PS5.Add me to this crowd as well. My one yearly purchase has always been The Show, which was also why I owned a Playstation to begin with. Right now I am considering getting a Series X since I have a base Xbox One. That's more about me wanting to move my base Xbone upstairs to be used as a streaming device/blu ray player than it is gaming though.

Re: 2020 Gaming Plans
My gaming plans have definitely not been what I have actually done this year.
I like others am not moving on to the PS5 so this is what I have going on right now:
PS4:
Currently Playing:
PGA 2k21: Building a golf course for a contest. It has been going well so far.
God of War: Just started this recently and I have been really enjoying it.
Madden 21: I have a future Falcons franchise going on and I have been enjoying it.
Other Recently Played/Stopped Games:
Ghosts of Tsushima: I have had some fun with this but as someone said above, I got burned out fairly quickly into the second Act.
Red Dead Redemption 2: I have a second playthrough that I pick up from time to time currently in Chapter 4 doing as much as I can with Arthur but mostly doing challenges and hunting.
MLB the Show 20: I love baseball but have found it hard to stay engaged in this years game. I pick it up from time to time but not consistently like I have in the past.
The Witcher 3: Been playing it here and there and it is a solid game I am enjoying. Right now, on the sidelines for God of War.
PC:
Factorio: At the moment, this is my go to PC game of choice.
Future Gaming Plans:
I do have a huge backlog on my PS4 but what I likely have slated to play by the end of the year is:
Final Fantasy 9: Another playthrough of my all time favorite game.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Greedfall: Started it but will look to continue it.
Skyrim: May break out Skyrim for another adventure and start a new character.
Future Sports Game Plans/Ideas:
I have a few ideas for some new franchises in a few sports games but nothing concrete yet.
Future Game Purchases:
Honestly, I don't have any real wants for games for the rest of the year. I am not moving on from the sports games I have even though I keep saying it. But at this point, that is accurate.Funkycorm

Re: 2020 Gaming Plans
Add me to the group that isn't upgrading this fall/winter to the PS5. My likely scenario is when MLB '21 drops on the PS5 next year, trying to get one.
I'm currently playing MLB '20 obviously, but also just picked up Mafia Trilogy and am getting Crash Bandicoot for my birthday here in a week or so, so I've got those plus a host of other backlog games to play through.
Add in the fact that my son is getting into gaming and we are enjoying the NES classic and he's getting a Nintendo Switch for Christmas, so dropping $500 plus on a new gaming console isn't in the immediate plans as my gaming time is well consumed at the moment.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: 2020 Gaming Plans
I've been trying to get my hands on a PS5, but not super hard. As long as I have one by time MLB 21 drops, I'll be happy.
But man, this has just been a down year for games for me (2019 wasn't great either). I keep "giving in" and getting new games, to really not play them much. I still haven't even finished FFVII even though I'm in the last stages. Haven't even finished the short The Avengers campaign (more due to my inept skill, lol). Fortunately, I've finally given up being seduced by open-world games...I never play them for long.
The upcoming release schedule does little for me too. My expectations for SW Squadrons are ultra-low; I fully expect a 4-5 hr campaign and then it's a dead game for me. Cyberpunk falls into the "open world" paradigm I struggle with (but I'll cave on that one because the world looks fascinating), and nothing else really stands out to me. My only "hope" is that we FINALLY get that Mass Effect Trilogy remaster that's been rumored for fall release...that comes out and my progress on every other game will grind to a halt for weeks.
Currently playing
MLB The Show 20 - Thank you lord that we have a good baseball game!
Madden 21
Trying to get (back) into
Control
The Avengers
On the "must buy" list

Re: 2020 Gaming Plans
Decided to go ahead and purchase Super Mario 3D All-Stars. I was able to get a physical copy, so I'll plan on playing Mario 64 and Mario Sunshine primarily in handheld and then switch to docked when I get to Mario Galaxy.
Also went ahead and purchased WWE Battlegrounds for the Switch. I was in the mood for a casual, fun game and this reminds me of Legends of WrestleMania and WWE All-Stars; two games I really enjoyed.Currently Playing:

Last I heard the Mass Effect rumored trilogy was pushed back till next year due to the 1st game being hard to remasterI

Re: 2020 Gaming Plans
This year has been a strange year in gaming for me, most notably because my gaming PC died and I bought a PS4 for the sole reason of playing MLB The Show 20, something I've thoroughly enjoyed.
Current Game Focus
Call of Duty Modern Warfare (Warzone) - I somewhat accidently stumbled upon Warzone when I realized it was free and have gotten pretty involved in it. I never liked Player's Unknown or Fortnite, but since it's COD, I've come to enjoy it. I don't have MW, but I may actually get the full game for the campaign and multiplayer.
Just Wrapped Up
MLB The Show 20 - I feel like I've played The Show exclusively at this point since June and a break is kinda good. I don't think I'll shelf the game as I will definitely play it a few times through playoffs and for a while after, but I have definitely gotten my worth out of it. Never got around to do a normal franchise because of how weird the real MLB season scheduling was...I just couldn't find realism in it.
On Stand By
Madden 21 - I honestly like just playing vs the CPU and playing each one of the coming games of the weekend before watching the real game. Franchise at this point is a waste of time, but overall the game is still fun.
Call of Duty World War 2 - Picked this up cheap thinking it would be similar to something like Cod2. Cannot get into the multiplayer, but I've played a few minutes of the campaign and it's pretty fun. Nothing amazing, but alright at best.
Graveyard
Red Dead Redemption 2 - I'm a huge GTA fan, but I honestly couldn't get into it. I felt like the start was slow and honestly I missed the boat. Who knows, may revisit when it's cheaper in the future.
F1 2019 - Best racing game out there and returned just because it was more of a fling than a long term game.
Madden 20 - Cuz of the new one.~ Return of the King ~Comment

Re: 2020 Gaming Plans
I'm still not feeling the pull of the PS5. I'll get one eventually, for sure, but I'm planning to wait until sometime in 2021. I have too many PS4 games still to play/finish, and I'm very happy with M20 and MLB20 for my sports fix.Comment

Re: 2020 Gaming Plans
I've been playing Modern Warfare non-stop since the beginning of the year so I'm pretty bored of it now.
Purchased Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 and had a blast playing it for September, but it just made me realize that I'm not young anymore. My fingers were cramping up and sore.
Currently playing Crash Bandicoot 4, and I'm just hooked on it. Can't wait to get home and play it with the wife. Then Black Ops Cold War is my next purchase to end out the year for new purchases.
Just bought Madden 25, 16, and 17 on eBay also.Comment

Re: 2020 Gaming Plans
We are going strong on:
MLB The Show 20
Madden 21
Madden 16
We started
Life Is Strange and will finish this by the middle of October.
I have decided I am not going next gen till a minimum of Christmas 2021 and that is the earliest possibility. I have an immense and awesome backlog of games I will be playing.
I am extremely happy with my sports titles (MLB 20, Madden 21, 2K18, Madden 16, NCAA 14, NBA 2K11 etc etc I have PS3 sports games I still pop in and play incredibly).
I have numerous non sports games I want to play through on the PS4. Too many to list.
Up to my eyeballs in games. LOL.Ugh. I was thinking the same way. I have a ton of games I'm really happy with, and plenty to do.This is where I'm at as well. It was nice not being stressed out over trying to secure a pre-order for either console. I have more than enough games on the PS4, XB1 and Switch (not to mention all of my older handhelds/consoles) that I'm in zero rush to move into the next generation.
As an offline gamer and noting the trend across the board in the sports genre of minimizing (and sometimes ignoring) offline modes and users, the incentive to upgrade to a new console just isn't there for me.
But my Xbox One X is on the fritz, and I use it as a 4K bluray player in my theater room. So I'm thinking if I'm going to buy a bluray player, might as well get the new Xbox so I can play games as well.
Maybe I'll just get the Xbox and NBA 2K for my son. Nothing about the next gen has really grabbed me so far.Comment

the last month I've played nothing but NCAA Football 2006 for PS2 but am planning to try out some of the new games this fall, cyberpunk, maybe black ops, and the new world of warcraft expansion looks coolComment

Re: 2020 Gaming Plans
Now that summer is over here in Canada I’m sure I’ll have a lot more time for games. Like many of you I’m not sold on getting a new console yet just because my backlog is so large and I haven’t been blown away by what little gameplay I’ve seen on the new consoles. I’ve only finished six games this year.
2020 Wish List
The Outer Worlds: Completed
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order: Started
The Outer Wilds: Started
Disco Elysium
Last of Us 2
Cyberpunk 2077
Microsoft Flight Simulator
Games Finished in 2020
Ghost of Tsushima (PS4 – Hard – Completed: Platinum Trophy)
A breathtakingly beautiful open world environment set in feudal Japan. I don’t usually take many screenshot but I took a ton here to showcase the art and I fast travelled as little as possible because I loved discovering the countryside. It has a rich main story with deep side quests and some of the best voice acting I’ve heard in a game. The fighting was fun and challenging even after 50 hours of gameplay. It’s a must buy if you have a PS4 (10 out of 10)
Far Cry 5 (PC -- Hard – Complete: 100 per cent missions)
Can you tell I’m a sucker for open world games? Montana makes for a classic open world setting – tons of lakes, rivers and mountains. It was an interesting take on the usual Ubisoft open world games with a lot more comedy from the characters. Hurk had some classic lines and I enjoyed having some companions fighting with me. The one problem with Ubisoft titles is that by the end you can be simply overpowered. With some of the companions at my side the battles weren’t even fair. I may be in the minority but I loved the ending. (9 out of 10)
Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition (PC -- Tactical) – Level 20
I finally got around to completing this classic isometric RPG. I’m going to let you in on a dumb thing I do -- I refuse to look up hints for games involving puzzles. I will spend hours trying to figure out a puzzle until my brain melts. It makes it rewarding for me when I finally figure out the answer. I might turn off the game and play a week later to try a new angle to figure out a puzzle. There was one puzzle near the end where I couldn’t figure out to open a door. Took me like six hours to figure it out. This game had several things like that which were really challenging which I enjoyed. But it meant I spent like 150-to-200 hours playing this game. I loved the combat and how it made you think about the environment (ie. using fireballs on an oil surface to set everything on fire). I hated the main story – the homestead, the star stones, the void, the God box. It was too weird and far out for me. You know how people hate the modern age component in the Assassin’s Creed story? That’s what I thought of the story. I wanted to punch Zixzax in the mouth. (8 out of 10).
Days Gone (PS4 – Hard) – Complete: 100 per cent (9 out of 10)
Outer Worlds (PC - Hard) – Complete: Level 30 (9 out of 10)
Star Wars: Battlefront II (PS4 – Soldier Level) – Completed Single Player Main Campaign/Inferno; Multiplayer Level 10
(6 out of 10)
Backlog Monster (tm)
I haven't made much progress this summer.
Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey: (PC -- Hard) – Level 21, 22 per cent completed..
Detroit: Become Human (PS4) – Completed Nine Chapters
Fallout 4 (PC -- Hard) -- Level 29
Journey (PS4)
Jurasic World Evolution (PC) – Completed First Three Islands
Kingdom Come: Deliverance (PC – Hardcore Mode) -- Level 14
Mad Max (PS4) – 23 per cent, Wreckage Roller
Metro Exodus (PS4 -- Hardcore) – The Volga Chapter
Ni No Kung II: Revenant Kingdom (PS4) – Chapter Two
Steep (PS4) – Alps: 18 per cent completion. Fun but the PS3 level graphics are disappointing. (Free Game).
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS4)
Tyranny (PC -- Hard) – Level 6
X-Com 2 (PC)
Watch Dogs (PS4) – 25.4 per cent
Witness (PS4)– 316 panels solved, +13 (Free Game)
Yakuza Kiwami (PS4 -- Normal) – 5.2 per cent
DLC Backlog
Dragon Age Inquisition DLC (PC) – Started Jaws of Hakkon – Level 26
Sports Franchises Played Since Last Post
FIFA 20 (PS4) -- Fulham
NHL 19 (PS4) – Toronto (0-3)
MLB 19 (PS4) – Milwaukee (15-21)
MLB 17 (PS4) – NY Mets (6-13)
MLB 16 (PS4) – Toronto (39-33)
MLB 15 (PS4) --Washington (37-39)
MLB 14 (PS3) -- Los Angeles (24-14)Last edited by bhurst99; 11-05-2020, 04:39 PM.Comment
