But man, I really loved this game (it's a spy/espionage RPG). It's pretty short (10 hrs IIRC) but it's got some fun spy elements, shooting elements, good enough story, and some good replayability as you can't really max out your character in a single playthrough. Different character builds really influenced how you played the game and made different sections of the game more/less difficult depending on your build.

It's harder to get now because of music licensing rights expiring; but I'd have to imagine hard copies aren't too bad to get ahold of.

    It's not a perfect game...but I really liked it.
Found it for 5 bucks for my PS3.

Going to give this a run after I settle in on my move to the new house in July.

Coming from you and we have very similar game tastes.....sounds like it will be a blast. I love spy games (loved the original Hitman trilogy on PS2 and From Russia With Love).

Will let you know how it went.

As far as games I loved that you rarely hear about anymore?

I realized I had this on PSN and downloaded to my PS3 recently. Wanted to give this one a try since it came out on PS1

Quite frankly the best series with Mass Effect on PS3.

I have played through the Dead Space trilogy two times and will start a third play through before year end.

Just amazing. And the first one was quite frankly one of the scariest games I have ever played. Just flat out crazy jump scares and a creep factor of 10.

Well, in fairness, at least I interpreted this as older games that aren't necessarily considered "retro" at this juncture (like the old NES games I grew up with).
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

that game made me think how cool it would be if rockstar did more 'venturing out' - always like new takes on genres instead of the same companies doing it again and again and again - table tennis proved it's a good thing because it was awesome.

                        Manhunt, The Warriors...

That was before all this AAA nonsense started though. Back when (mainstream) gaming actually had some decent variety still.

I miss the days where companies were venturing into different areas like this, and games were being pumped out so quickly. I get it that with how complex games are these days that we aren't likely to see them get made as fast. That's not completely true across the board, though, as we see Assassin's Creed having a new release every other year, Call of Duty releases annually, and other big series release with some regularity.

We got all of those Rockstar games like The Warriors, Manhunt, State of Emergency, Max Payne, and the GTA games, and we got them more regularly. Think about how revolutionary GTA III was, then how much of a hit both Vice City and San Andreas were. Now realize we got those 3 games in 4 years. Then we had to wait 4 years to get GTA IV, which was a big upgrade in some areas, a big step back in many others. Then we had to wait another 5 years to get GTA V.

Yes, GTA Online has been more successful than anyone ever anticipated and it's like part of why we still haven't seen GTA VI even get teased, but it's been 7 years and no news on a new GTA game.

I know it is a pipe dream these days, but I would love to see GTA release a new game as regularly as they used to. I don't need major graphical updates, I just want a new story and setting every year or two with similar gameplay like we got in the 3D universe.

This isn't just my wish with GTA games, though. I'm just using that series as an example. I would love to see these "AAA" devs producing games more regularly like the older Rockstar games, the modern Assassin's Creed games, etc.

Like I said, I get games are more complex and it's not as easy to pump games out as quickly with the quality we are seeing, especially graphically, but I do believe companies like Take Two/Rockstar definitely have the resources to release GTA every 2 to 3 years if they really wanted to. The milking of GTA Online, though, will never let that happen.
“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

I can just list my top five games of all time because no game from the last 20 years has been able to surpass any of these games for me.

                              Planescape: Torment

                              Xenogears

                              Baldur's Gate II

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I remember the Warriors. I never finished it and I remember the exact part I left off at. It was the mission where you were running from the train, I couldn't get past that part as a young teen lol.
A game series that I had been thinking about lately was the True Crime games on PS2. I enjoyed those True Crime games

I miss those PS2 days. There were so much variety and frequent games. Think of Rockstar was yearly putting out quality games then to now only having two games since 2013. GTA 6 isn't expected for a few years. I hope that isn't the case where one game every 4-7 years. Rockstar has a big back catalog games I would like to see revived.
