If they were ever to remake/reboot it, i would be interested. It was a good game and liked the playing as a cop aspect.
I would like to see more major cop/detective games. Haven't been much since LA Noire, Sleeping Dogs, and Max Payne 3.
I liked both TC:LA and TC:NY. I would love a True Crime:LA remakeLast edited by illwill10; 05-31-2020, 04:22 PM.Comment

If you're only on consoles, I heard Disco Elysium is coming to those platforms soon. (It's already out on PC)
Although if you're an 'all action' guy and don't like reading, it's not gonna be for you. (not directing this at you personally, just in general)Last edited by Anthraticus; 06-01-2020, 01:49 PM.Comment

Re: Older games you like that not many people talk about anymore?
I'm going to add a couple more. Both are mainstream but received a lot of criticism.
Finally fantasy 8
I actually don't understand why people hate this game so much. The magic /draw system was terrible, I'll grant that. Imo it has the best story of any FF game to date, with the best music that Nobuo Uemetsu ever composed for a FF game. The introduction of the card mini game was also a fun little addition.
Final Fantasy XIII
I kind of do get why this game gets hated on, but also don't. The linear structure was a major departure from most of the series. However, X is often considered one of the best, and it was every bit as linear. The bottlenecks for leveling up were annoying, but it did make sense in the context of the story. Speaking of stories, it could have used a bit more exposition, but if we are being honest that is the case for most jrpgs. Combat was fun, fluid, tactical and cinematic. Not having more access to summons was a bit unfortunate, especially since they were so cool, but the game really shined with its characters. Lightning is my favorite character in the series, and other than Hope, every member of the cast had very real motivations for overcoming the difficulties of their quest.

My PC can't handle Disco Elysium or I would have played it day one, but from the way people who share my gaming taste talk about it, it has GOAT potential for me.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Older games you like that not many people talk about anymore?
You sure dude ? I'm playing it on a AMD Athlon II X2 250 Processor 3.00 GHz with 5.00 GB Ram and a GeForce GTS 450 card that I've had for about a decade.
Also, they're dropping this 'working class' update too....
SpoilerWorking Class Update!
We've been working hard on optimizing Disco Elysium so that it runs on as many hardworking machines as possible. No matter how old or low-tech they may be!
If you found that your computer struggled to run Disco Elysium before then this update will hopefully remedy that. Many more people can play for the first time, or have a much better and smoother experience than before. This one's for all our bratan keeping it real by booting up games on their ancient potato machines.
With this latest update, Disco Elysium's minimum specs have been dropped down to Mariana Trench levels. That goes for both the Windows PC and Mac versions.
New PC minimum:
Windows 7 and DirectX 11 compatible video card (integrated or dedicated with min 512MB memory). 2GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo, 20GB hard disk space.
New Mac minimum:
- MacBook Pro: from mid 2009
- MacBook Air: from mid 2012
- iMac: from late 2009
- Mac Pro: from late 2008
- Mac mini: from 2009
* An OpenGL capable system
* The higher fan speeds are normal effect, fans run faster when 20% or more of CPU capacity is used.
* These are the oldest tested machines, we cannot guarantee all different specs run but we tried to push specs as low as possible without sacrificing gaming experience.
We're determined to take it further too. We're going to try to keep optimizing so low that we break through the crust on the other side of the planet. Show us your scrapheap calculators and rusty adding machines and we'll give it a go. Disco Elysium for all!Comment

It did lead to a lot of fun games. Unfortunately it was compacted into a short period of time. Still, who ever thought we would get a Beatles music game?

Re: Older games you like that not many people talk about anymore?
it was all the rage, I used to heave people over and everyone would want to have a drink and play rock band! I remember it was like 2006 or something if I remember correctly? maybe 2007 ... then it just vanished because the masses don't like new editions etc. Like if you can play nba jam in an arcade for 10 years, ...Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Older games you like that not many people talk about anymore?
Totally agree. I think I posted this over in the "Uncommon Opinions" thread, but Final Fantasy XIII is my favorite Final Fantasy game. I loved it. Although I think that it helped that I played it for the first time many years after it was released and therefore didn't have any preconceived notions about the game or any of the 'controversy' surrounding it.I'm going to add a couple more. Yeah I think having the Final Fantasy name hurt XIII. I had kind of a similar situation as you. I played it when it first came out, and got about half way through it before giving up. At the time I actually didn't like the combat. I came back to it a year or so later without any of those pre-conceived notions and found that I just really enjoyed the experience.Totally agree. Re: Older games you like that not many people talk about anymore?
I hadn't come back to this thread in a minute so I didn't see this post, but I will definitely be able to run the game now. I want to finish Greedfall on Xbox first, but DE is definitely next. Re: Older games you like that not many people talk about anymore?
Alpha Protocol on PS3 was always a blast. You could really feel the way you acted and used your dialogue effected outcomes during the game. I played it over Christmas and it's now back in my PS3 rotation. If you like RPG espionage I def recommend it. You can pick it up really cheap as well now, so it's real value for money.
Still on PS3 Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is still the most realistic sim war game for consoles...it's really hard but it's worth it if you like realistic war.
The MGS remastered PS3 edition is also worth a look...it's 3 of the better titles all in one and the graphics do hold up if that thing matters to you.
Ghost Recon Wildlands. I've put so many hours into this game and it's still the go to game for my buddies and me on a weekend.
NHL2k10. You can see my posts about it in the forum but this is the hockey game I play every week.Last edited by Drop_ya_mitts; 06-15-2020, 10:53 AM.Comment

Re: Older games you like that not many people talk about anymore?
Another game would be Prototype. Yeah it had its obvious flaws and 2nd's game direction turned many off and being compared to Infamous, but I liked the potential the first game had. I enjoyed the gameplay and at time it was different. It was fun to run full speed, snatch someone up, and run up tallest building, and toss them 50 yards lol.
I didn't care for that lazy port they did for current gen where they just bundled the two game together as is. Felt like just a money grab. They should have remastered the games at least.
I wouldn't mind a reboot of the Series. Where they keep the premise of the game but give it better direction. I would even take a remake of the first game.Comment
