OK, going to admit, wasn't feeling it or expecting space adventure as ND's next project. I think I heard it's already 3-4 years in the making. Reception is already mixed as expected. So, we shall see.

Intergalactic stars our newest protagonist, Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who ends up stranded on Sempiria – a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago. In fact, anyone who’s flown to it hoping to unravel its mysterious past was never heard from again. Jordan will have to use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit.

They are definitely setting themselves for another controversial topic with the potential to over shadow the game. With the user score of last of 2 being so low, the cancelled game and the TV show. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds with the masses

        What’s setting up as controversial?

I’ve only seen the trailer and haven’t read a single thing about it, so maybe I missed something obvious.

I liked the trailer and look forward to learning more about it. I don't see any controverse with it.

If I were to guess, it's probably something about being woke. I don't know, so far we've only seen female characters on screen and one has like a shaved head.

When that was part of the outcry in TLOU 2 about Abby and Lev being more manly in nature (among other reasons people disliked its narrative), that's where my mind instantly goes.

We'll see if this is the game we'd all want it to be. I expected the space stuff to look better, but inside the spacecraft and that forest environment looked pretty good, as do the character models. I expected a bit more from this generation overall, but hopefully this game provides an excellent story as they've done for Uncharted and The Last of Us.

At least people that are triggered by that sort of thing had had something tangible to go off in TLoU2. Not to say that I agreed with most of that, but I think it initially leaked that there was a trans character, then it leaked how Joel was handled, then they saw big ‘ol Abby and thought she was the trans character, and then of course there was the actual trans character in Lev…

I dunno, I thought maybe there was something else, but I guess if a female lead in and of themselves is woke now, I’m not sure what you even say to that. It appears to be a point of contention with Witcher 4, but I hope that’s mostly a vocal minority of weirdos.

Anyway, I’m happy for the studio that they’re getting a bit of a pallet cleanser from TLoU, and I’m excited to see what they have to offer. I thought they made huge leaps in gameplay and presentation over the PS4 generation. Looking forward to seeing how they build on that, and the 80s/90s retro future aesthetic has the potential to be really cool.

                Re: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

Fans were upset with Druckman forcing us to play a protagonist who "offed" a loveable character. They'll look for anything now unfortunately. As for me, I'm space adventured out, but it's Naughty Dog, and their reputation precedes them.

Cast identified......Is that Lalo Salamanca in that pic?

Naughty Dog revealed its next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, at The Game Awards 2024, and fans think they've already worked out what looks to be a very impressive cast.

Intergalactic director and Naughty Dog studio head Neil Druckmann has already confirmed that Tati Gabrielle of the Uncharted movie will play the protagonist, a bounty hunter named Jordan A. Mun, and told The New York Times that Kumail Nanjiani of Marvel's Eternals will play one of her targets, a man called Colin Graves.

But fans have analysed the trailer, below, to piece together the rest of the cast, and though it focuses on just a couple of characters, a photo of what appears to be a crew reveals even more.

                  Re: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

Some information regarding ND's new game.

Speaking further on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet’s plot, Druckmann said that a new religion pops up and becomes prominent around the time the game’s altered timeline deviates. He spent years building this religion, from the original ‘prophet and how it changed and evolved over the centuries. This religion develops a following on planet Sempiria, after which all communication there stops.

Druckmann shared that he wanted to make a game about being lonely. He pointed out that Naughty Dog has worked on several games that often have an AI-driven companion tag along with the player. With Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, it’ll be the opposite, as the game director wants the player to feel lost in a place that they have no idea about, and to wonder what happened on the planet, who its inhabitants are, and what their history is. As per the narrative, no one has heard from Sempiria in 600 years, and the game’s protagonist, Jordan A. Mun, must figure out what happened on the planet if she hopes to escape.
